Guest guest
Hello , I am really pleased to hear that you are doing so well after registering as a member of TPA - this is the news we long to hear from all our members eventually, so thanks so much for coming back to tell us your story and I hope that from now on, you will continue to get better and better. Well done . Luv - Sheila PS - I am leaving all of this message appended so those of you who have not read it can do sol Dear Sheila, I hope you can remember me? You along with your forum rescued me from a life of doom and antidepressants on the NHS. I have had another child and have emigrated to Perth, Western Australia since I last posted!! I am doing very well on Naturthroid and now supplement with Dr s adrenal tablets, which I buy from New Zealand and seem to be working well. I have wanted to post for ages, as I wanted to share what is the most profound thing to happen to me that is, after switching from Thyroxine to natural thyroid: I now have a gluten free diet and am extremely well as a result. I logged on and I found this post...ironically... I want to tell a little story to illustrate what has happened..hope you're all still with me? 10 years ago I caused a deep cut on my shin, it never healed. I thought I should have had stitches and thought no more of it. The years have passed and my health had gone from bad to worse. I had managed to re-gain some of it with the help of TPA, Dr Peatfield and everyone else on this forum. Just before emigrating, without hubbie and with 2 children and a whole life to pack up..I got sick..no surprises there...exhausted..depressed..suicidal even. I pulled myself to the doctor, with a face full of acne and barely any energy to get out of bed. They suggested PNDepression & hormones. Checked the usual bloods and everything was 'fine'. Same old same old really. I was also diagnosed with acne rosacea. So my reading around rosacea began. I read so much and began to understand about intolerances, gluten, lactose, sugar and alcohol being the worst culprits. So I changed my diet completely and cut out all of the above (no more red wine for me...but I do sneak the odd glass of white now and again!!) Anyway 2 months after the above diet changes and back to the scar on my leg....there was new skin growing over the scar. Like magic has been happening, it is healing. It is still healing now, I have been taking pictures as I can't believe it is happening. My brother and mum are here visiting and they have seen me over the years, they say how I don't look 'puffy'any more and better than they have ever seen me! And I feel FANTASTIC!!!. I am still reading about celiac disease and I have read recently that it has been suggested to be the cause of Graves Disease (which is the auto immune disorder I was diagnosed with at 18 and had my thyroid chopped out). Celiac disease also inhibits nutrient absorption as you know and so I can only guess that I am now finally getting all those vitamins through. So many unanswered questions Sheila. Why oh why at all those hundreds of GP visits had this not been suggested to me? I once again had to work it out for myself. Thank goodness I have though. I will NEVER go back and this is why I wanted to share this with everyone on here. I have finally re-gained the health I thought was out of my reach. Well I still have a journey ahead of me, I know that now. I will keep on reading and have a mental pledge to do something to raise money for TPA at some point soon, as you set me on a path and I am very grateful to you. I am planning on having a blood test for Graves antibodies at some point in the future, it will interesting to see if they are still there, they were the last time I checked in the UK. I hope this post helps some people, the way posts have helped me and I would be happy to chat on e-mail too, Lots of Love No virus found in this message.
