Guest guest
Hi Sheila, thank you for your reply. > Always before posting information such as this onto a public forum where > there are thousands of members, you need to be sure of your facts - and this > message has nothing to do with facts. Go back to your source of information > and ask them to point you in the right direction to prove WHY they are > useless. If this was the case, why is it that thousands of people in the UK > alone are regaining better health after using them. I personally recommended NAE and feel a lot better on them. I was put on them about a year ago and have had some improvement. I am not an expert and trying, probably like most people, my best to get healthly on my own and with the help of this wonderful group. I am sorry if my original question was offence in any way, I was deeply shocked and upset and turned to you guys in a moment of panic for your thoughts. I have been taking them > daily as a 'maintenance dose' to keep my adrenals strong and healthy. We > would NOT be advocating their use if they were bad. I am comforted and reassured by this and shall continue to take them. > > I wonder, are you a member of the 'Hypothyroidism' group and got this > information from there. > > No Sheila, I am only a member of this group and one other who actually gave me this incorrect information about the NAE and who I have now left. Rather than comment any further here, (to do so would be wrong as you point out this is a public site) if you like I am happy to email you the group name and the exact comments made. I am very ill and tried prevously (foolishly) to take NDT in my ignorance before my cortisol levels were high enough. I am still desparately trying to get them up and started exploring the option of taking more than 2 per day. This led me to ask how many could be taken per day, and that is when I was given the bad information - just to reiterate - it was not given by this site but one I have now left. A year ago my saliva test was- post awakening 4.8 (range 12-22) sample 2 4.2 (5 - 9) sample 3 2.1 (3 - 7) sample 4 0.1 (1 - 3) DHEA am 0.37 (0.4 - 1.47) pm 0.23 (0.4 - 1.47) and Vit D was 28 (51 -163) My latest labs are- Cortisol sample 1 12.5 (12-22) sample 2 2.7 (5-9) sample 3 2.8 (3-7) sample 4 0.1 (1 -3) DHEA 3.7 (0.26 - 11) Ferritin 28 (60 - 400) Vit B 315 (211 - 911) Folate 6.3 (3.4 - 17.5) TSH 1.22 (0.27 - 4.2) FT4 12.7 (12.0 - 22) FT3 4.1 (3.1 - 6.8) I currently take:- before breakfast - 2 Thyro Complex with breakfast 1 T- Convert 2 Adrenomax 2 Nutri Adrenal Extra 3 Nutri Thyroid 2 Co Q-10 1 vitamin D 1000iu 1 Ferrous Fumarate BP 210mg (approx 65 mg ferrous iron) 1 vit C 570mg slow release with bioflavinonids with lunch 1 T-Convert 1 Adrenomax 1 Vitamin C 570mg slow release with bioflavinonids 1 Ferrous Fumarate BP 210mg (approx 65 mg ferrous iron) 1 B12 2 Ginkgo & Gingseng 1 Calcium & Vitamin D 1 Vitamin C 570mg slow release with bioflavinonids thank you, luv nikki
Guest guest
Yes please Nikki - let me know the name of the forum privately - send to [sheila@...] I am very ill and tried prevously (foolishly) to take NDT in my ignorance before my cortisol levels were high enough. I am still desparately trying to get them up and started exploring the option of taking more than 2 per day. This led me to ask how many could be taken per day, and that is when I was given the bad information - just to reiterate - it was not given by this site but one I have now left. A year ago my saliva test was- post awakening 4.8 (range 12-22) - This result was very low. It should be at its highest at this time of the day to help you get through the daily chores. sample 2 4.2 (5 - 9) - again this was too low sample 3 2.1 (3 - 7) - this one was outside the bottom of the range sample 4 0.1 (1 - 3) - this too was outside the bottom of the range. and Vit D was 28 (51 -163) - Ouch! This is VERY VERY low. My latest labs are- Cortisol sample 1 12.5 (12-22) - an improvement but still too low sample 2 2.7 (5-9) - Oh dear! even further below the bottom of the range. sample 3 2.8 (3-7) - no improvement here either from last year sample 4 0.1 (1 -3) - no improvement here either. DHEA 3.7 (0.26 - 11) - this is very low and needs supplementing Ferritin 28 (60 - 400) - are you sure you have the correct reference range here. This looks more like a reference range for a man. For a women the reference range is somewhere within the region of 20 to 200. However, 28 would still be right ab the bottom of the range and needs supplementing with some form of elemental iron. Vit B 315 (211 - 911) - Too low, B12 results should be near to the top of the reference range, i.e. over 800 and your GP should be treating this with either iron injections or with sublingual 1000mcgs B12 twice or three times daily to start with. Folate 6.3 (3.4 - 17.5) - This is too low. You need 800mcgs Folic Acid daily. TSH 1.22 (0.27 - 4.2) - that is OK FT4 12.7 (12.0 - 22) - this is just above the bottom of the range and is too low. For those not taking thyroid hormone replacement it should be above the middle of the ref. range, i.e. yours should be somewhere in the region of 17 to 18, FT3 4.1 (3.1 - 6.8) - this is too low. It should be in the upper third of the reference range. Probably not making sufficient thyroxine in the first place to convert to the active T3. I currently take:- before breakfast - 2 Thyro Complex with breakfast 1 T- Convert OK 2 Adrenomax - OK 2 Nutri Adrenal Extra - you can increase this as mentioned in my previous message 3 Nutri Thyroid - excellent 2 Co Q-10 - how much. You need to be taking at least 100mgs daily, more if possible 1 vitamin D 1000iu - need a much higher dose, i.e. 5000iu. or morel 1 Ferrous Fumarate BP 210mg (approx 65 mg ferrous iron) That's fine 1 vit C 570mg slow release with bioflavinonids - increase this to 1000mgs with lunch 1 T-Convert OK 1 Adrenomax -OK 1 Vitamin C 570mg slow release with bioflavinonids, again, increase to 1000mgs 1 Ferrous Fumarate BP 210mg (approx 65 mg ferrous iron) That's fine 1 B12 - what is the dosage of the B12 and is this sublingual? 2 Ginkgo & Gingseng - Fine 1 Calcium & Vitamin D - how much? 1 Vitamin C 570mg slow release with bioflavinonids - increase this to 1000mgs. I cant work out Sheila why it has raised a bit early morning and then drops even lower in the day. I am thinking of taking more NAE or NA mid morning or lunch time (not after 1 pm). > DHEA 3.7 (0.26 - 11) - this is very low and needs supplementing I will add DHEA. I have 25mg tabs in the house and I was taking one every other day. Do you think this sufficient? > Ferritin 28 (60 - 400) - are you sure you have the correct reference range Maybe not - got the range form a very reluctant gp who really isnt very helpful. (live in a very deprived area and have tried changing gps several times - I am now too exhausted) I am trying to raise the ferritin myself to at least 75. > Vit B 315 (211 - 911) - Too low, B12 results should be near to the top of the reference range, i.e. over 800 and your GP should be treating this with either iron injections or with sublingual 1000mcgs B12 twice or three times daily to start with. Again, GP thinks this is fine! I take B12 1000mcg per day - didnt know to take it sublingual, so I shall take 3 under the tongue from now. > Folate 6.3 (3.4 - 17.5) - This is too low. You need 800mcgs Folic Acid daily. I will add 2 x 400 mcg daily. > FT4 12.7 (12.0 - 22) - this is just above the bottom of the range and is too low. I have nearly all the hypothyroid sypmtoms, sometimes so ill I am confined to bed, and will take NDT or T3 when my adrenals are a lot better. > I currently take:- > before breakfast - 2 Thyro Complex No comment from you here sheila, should I keep taking these, more or less? > with breakfast > 2 Nutri Adrenal Extra - you can increase this as mentioned in my previous message Yes I will. You need to be taking at least 100mgs daily, more if possible I take 2 x 60mgs. > 1 vitamin D 1000iu - need a much higher dose, i.e. 5000iu. or more Will increase straight away. > 1 Ferrous Fumarate BP 210mg (approx 65 mg ferrous iron) That's fine > 1 vit C 570mg slow release with bioflavinonids - increase this to 1000mgs Will do. > with lunch > 1 Vitamin C 570mg slow release with bioflavinonids, again, increase to 1000mgs Again will do. > 1 B12 - what is the dosage of the B12 and is this sublingual? > 1 Calcium & Vitamin D - how much? Negligable Vit d 2.5mcg, really take it to up calcium levels. Calcuim 400mg. > 1 Vitamin C 570mg slow release with bioflavinonids - increase this to 1000mgs. Will do. I cant thank you enough Sheila. luv nikki

I cant work out Sheila why it has raised a bit early morning and then drops even lower in the day. I am thinking of taking more NAE or NA mid morning or lunch time (not after 1 pm). It should be near about in the middle of the reference range first thing and yours is way too low. Increase your NAE by one tablet every 2 to 3 weeks until you feel improvements. Are you very tired and fatigued when you wake up in a morning and find you are unable to 'get going'? > DHEA 3.7 (0.26 - 11) - this is very low and needs supplementing I will add DHEA. I have 25mg tabs in the house and I was taking one every other day. Do you think this sufficient? Yes, but don't be surprised if you don't feel any effect much when you first start. Some people have to wait about 3 months before any good effects become really noticeable, so don't give up. > Vit B 315 (211 - 911) - Too low, B12 results should be near to the top of the reference range, i.e. over 800 and your GP should be treating this with either iron injections or with sublingual 1000mcgs B12 twice or three times daily to start with. What brand of B12 are you taking and check on the bottle that it can be taken sublingually. Solgar do an excellent B23 - little pink tablets you place under the tongue. Not everybody can take B12 orally. > I currently take:- > before breakfast - 2 Thyro Complex No comment from you here sheila, should I keep taking these, more or less? Yes > with breakfast > 2 Nutri Adrenal Extra - you can increase this as mentioned in my previous message Yes I will. I will start adding another tablet every... 2 weeks? Might be better to take one tablet with breakfast and the second tablet with lunch. Some people can feel a bit nauseous taking them all at once and you must always take them with food. When you increase your dose with another tablet add this one to your breakfast dose, and then next increase after that too your lunch dose. > 1 B12 - what is the dosage of the B12 and is this sublingual? 1000mcgs - Solgar brand is sublingual. You might start off with 1 twice daily to start to really boost your levels. > 1 Calcium & Vitamin D - how much? I cant thank you enough Sheila. luv nikki No virus found in this message. Are you very tired and fatigued when you wake up in a morning and find you are unable to 'get going'? Definately!! Some days I cant get out of bed at all, some days I manage to get up about noon. > > DHEA 3.7 (0.26 - 11) - this is very low and needs supplementing > I will add DHEA. Some people have to wait about 3 months before any good effects become really noticeable, so don't give up. Just wondering if I would be better off taking 7 keto dhea Sheila? (no testosterone). > What brand of B12 are you taking and check on the bottle that it can be taken sublingually. Solgar do an excellent B23 - little pink tablets you place under the tongue. Not everybody can take B12 orally. Um,.. Healthspan B12 - doesnt say it can be taken sublingually. I probably need to swap brands then to solgar.
