Good on you! I'm just starting week 3 and need to get a little

tougher on myself food wise. Not being bad but just not as strict

as the book says.

Hope it all goes fab!!!

Hi Sue,

Have you tried other pharmacies? I haven't heard of any shortages but maybe

some of us that are taking it could tell you if there are. How long of a

back order did the pharmacist say? I know that pharmacies can switch Rx's so

I'd try another drug store.

Hi Sue, Im sorry for all your troubles and pain these past few

weeks..but to add this on top of it all is so unneccessary

(spelling)..please call around other pharmacy's and check if thats

true and if not change to one of them...I cant believe these things

happen to people that need the med so badly..I will keep you in my

prayers.

take care,

Sue,

This is just too much, is there another pharmacy you can use. it seems

you have had too much hassle from them these last months. You take

care, you are in our prayers, Louise.

Thank you to everyone who commented on my wonderful Walgreens Pharmacy

experience, yet once again. You will be glad to know, that I did indeed get

all my scripts today and I took my first " whopping " dose of Arava. I hope

that I see something or feel something different, while I am waiting for

Enbrel to come through. My rheumy called yesterday and told the Enbrel

people about my case and they were sending him paperwork on people with

Stills Disease, and how Enbrel is working for them, and he is forwarding

this and his letter to my insurance company. Who knows...maybe some of you,

are the people that the Enbrel company will be referring to my insurance

company. My rheumy knows that Enbrel has worked very well with Stills

patients. Hopefully it will come through soon.

Thank you everyone.

Love,.Sue #2

Damn right we would all move in a second if it would make us better, but I dont think it would every lives in different climates and doesn't really seem to matter.Sorry ur daughter is in flare,im so worried mines gonna come back to but what can u do if it does well i guess the protocol is to jump the pred suxx but gotta get it under control.Take care. do.Canada

Here we go again!

Hello group. It's been months since I posted last. Keahley had a great Spring and Summer. Her summer-camp counceling went great and she returned to school in August as a Junior and got a part-time job as a cahier at a local supermarket. She did continue to have the rash periodically during this time, but no fever and very little pain. During this time she continued to be on MTX, Prednisone 20 mg, Celebrex, Folic Acid, Calcium and Prilosec. Her rhummy had tried to get her on Enbrel several months ago to help taper her pred., but the insurance co. had refused because she had not been on MTX for 6 months yet. Well, Sept. was the 6 mo. point and at her last visit, he wrote another prescription and it finally went through. The plan was to leave her on the MTX with the Enbrel for several months and try to decrease the pred. Well, she had her 6th Enbrel injection on Thurs.(a week ago now) and on Sunday a MAJOR flare with 103 fever, horrible rash, and pain all over. I gave her Lortab and her fever would break as she sweated it off. Her temp would be around 97, she'd get a hard chill, her fingernails would turn bluish looking and next thing you know, 103. Her rhummy was out of town (you would know) and her pcp increased her pred to 20 in am and 10 pm and called her in some more lortab. We finally seen her rhummy on Thurs. and he increased her pred to 30 in a.m. and 30 p.m. Also put her on Clindamycin for sinus drainage. Plans to decrease pred tomorrow to 20 am/20 pm for 3 d and then 15/15 x 3 d and then back to 20 once a day. She missed the whole week of school and is having flash-backs of last year (was only able to attend 2 1/2 months). She cried so hard, "Why can't this go away...why can't I have a normal life?" Her g-father has rheumatoid arth. and had a horrible week the same week she started. I asked her rhummy if it would help if we moved somewhere (ANYWHERE!) where the climate never changes. He said not necessarily....that they really don't understand JRA/Still's. Do any of you have or know of a rhummy who specializes in Still's? It is so odd that all this started around the same time last year. I love my home (born and raised here), but I'd leave in a split second if there was somewhere we could be where she wouldn't have flares. Thanks in advance for all replies!!! DeneineKeahley's Mom

No case manager here. There's a principal who's in charge of 5 sites, a unit

coordinator at each site and 3 vice principals who float around and annoy

parents. The principal and two unit coordinators all know how I feel about the

situation. Pretty soon the regional superintendent and Klein, the

chancellor will know how I feel too. Most of the other parents aren't happy

either.

Some are exploring private schools and homeschooling. They'll let me know if

they find anything worthwhile. To your point, there is no one person in the

system to advocate for Liam, but me.

What it boils down to is a business decision to provide more ABA classrooms

so parents can't sue the Dept of Ed to pay for private schools, because they

had no spots to offer. Although I realize they need these classes, they

certainly didn't take into account the 17 boys and girls who are impacted. All

they

had to do is wait a year and these kids would age out of the K-1 program

naturally. My plan was to find him a more inclusive environment and probably

repeat the first grade. Now I don't have time to find another program in time.

It's a gamble. This may not be a bad program. There are worse ones out

there. If I reject this option now, I could lose the spot, that would limit my

options. His little friends would be kept together if everyone agrees to stay.

I hear the teacher is good, but she's 12. Liam has been known to make younger

teachers/therapists contemplate other careers. He responds best to more

experienced teachers who have no fear. He might eat this one alive.

It's so frustrating when you find something that works and the bureaucrats

break it.

Kathy,

i thought All district 75 school were opened. The one above my son's

school is open but it is not a good place for Liam. Most if not all the kids

have major behavior problems. Also violent.

Have you look at the city school web site they list all schools.

The time restrains is the only problem

Maureen,

Only district 75 schools at some sites are open. like 2 or 3 schools will

combine programs. its usually sites (buildings) that have the most air

conditioning.

Vent away, sorry it's made such a drastic reappearance. Would a bit

of a higher dose of her medication help right now maybe? I used to

give a little extra Celexa at what I thought might be times

OCD could increase, like first day of school, big test coming up,

Christmas....

I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter! I hope

things get better!!!

We just had the nightmare ERP week where I had to

listen to an hour a day of my son screaming and

telling me he hated me, wanted to die and lots of

crazy things. (On a positive note he had two positive

exposures where he was able to calm his OCD and was in

a good mood).

So, adding it up, I had to listen to about 7 hours of

" I hate you " and " I wish I were dead " this week.

Fun!!!! :-(

Anyhow, I hope everything settles down for you.

Sometimes this whole thing feels like a crazy roller

coaster ride. Gook luck!

Tess

Wow, Tess, I guess I'm glad I'm at least not going through that (yet).

So far it's still OCD she hates and resents, she does try blaming me

everytime we have an argument, but usually realizes it was all OCD-driven.

It is a crazy ride - funny how I used to love rollercoasters as a kid,

now they give me headaches and make me want to puke; HEY, just like I

feel when dealing with OCD! :)

On occassion when the mites are in my shoes I put Bounce sheets in my

socks. Being a guy, that isn't a problem. A woman wearing a skirt may

not have this option. Maybe try spraying the Arrid around your ankles?

I have found mites become tolerant to DEET and OFF products. Most mite

bites are indiscriminate and tend to be all over, so it is a

bit surprising that they bite just around your ankles, like fleas tend

to do.

Good luck here,

Tim
