Am i allowed to get copies of my patient notes ?

Just wondering, as my endo specialist is refering me to a gastrologist specilast

but he has to go through my gp as one specialist cant refer to another. His

words.

When i was in the doctors i asked had my endo refered me as i hadnt heard

anything in over a month, and the lady brought all my notes up on the computer,

and i could see about 5 pages of notes from my endo to my gp. SO cheakily i

asked " can i get a copy of those please " and the receptionist said " oh i will

have to ask the doctor " - So i was just wondering if i have a chance or if they

are strictly between doctor and dcotor.
