Hi Tammy,

You'll have to ask your GP to write you a referral letter to

Dr. Gordon R B Skinner MD22 Alcester Rd Mosely Birmingham B13 8BEtel 01214 498895

Best wishes and good luck

Best to just ask. Say that you are continuing with symptoms and

not getting any better and that now you are determined to find out the real

cause and therefore, would he please be kind enough to refer you to Dr Skinner

for a second opinion.

I'd like to get my GP to refer me to Dr Skinner. How do I go about this?

Thanks Tammy

Thanks , Shelia and Sue,

My endo wants to get rid of me anyway, even suggested a 2nd opinion, my GP said

her hands were 'tied' because the endo had written a letter saying a firm NO to

Erfa, even though the GP was happy to prescribe Erfa before endo said no!

I had a good telephone chat with GP, who said she would monitor me with blood

tests etc if i purchased the Erfa online, however she would also refer me to an

endo who would prescribe NDT if I could give her name etc....but she could not

prescribe Erfa again until I found an endo who appreciates that suppressed TSH

with normal T4 and T3 ranges does NOT mean I am hyperthyroid. GP said I was

biochemically hyperthyroid, I said I am clinically not. We are at logger heads.

It doesn't help that I get so angry and frustrated when I see my endo now my

blood pressure and pulse rate increase dramatically....I'm now going to

challenge him to monitor my metabolic rate by weight and temperature, which are

not so affected by emotions! we shall see.

Thanks again for yr advice. Lv T

  • 3 weeks later...

You are behind the times Vicky, double jeopardy has been dropped from our laws for some years now.    If someone has been tried for murder and acquitted, yet several years later DNA was found and it was his, he can now be re-tried.

Lilian

Is there not such a thing as Double Jeopardy in the medical world as there is in our fair courts of law?
