Guest guest
Hi all and thank you Sheila for suggesting I repeat my Adrenal Stress Profile (I have done this via TPA, many thanks). I have the results. I had previously had this done in June 2010 and now 21st Jan (so 18 months apart). I was quite ill with severe food allergy/diarrehoea following stress over a long period of time the first time, this has much improved l although not completely but I still have lots of problems plus symptoms of Hypothyroid and have never returned to my former self. I will post both tests for comparison. Are you able to tell which way I am going? (GENOVA, Ref ranges the same for both tests). I am not taking any medication apart from HCL/digestive enzymes and Vit C 500mg twice a day. I recently stopped zinc. No diagnosis yet of hypothyroid (TSH normal despite high Peroxidase (TPO) NOW: 18 MONTHS AGO SAMPLE 1 post waking 15.1 6.3 (low) (12-22 cortisol ref limits nmol/L) SAMPLE 2 (+4-5 hours) 3.0 (low) 4.2 (low) (5.0-9.0 cortisol ref limits nmol/L) SAMPLE 3 (+4-5 hours) 3.4 6.1 (3.0-7.0 cortisol ref limits nmol/L) SAMPLE 4 (prior to sleep) 2.1 1.5 (1.0-3.0 cortisol ref limits nmol/L) TOTAL DAILY CORTISOL 23.6 18.1 (Low) (Range 21-41 nmol/L) DHEA SAMPLE 2 (am) 0.2 0.23 (can't see a ref range for these) DHEA SAMPLE 3 (pm) 0.14 (low) 0.34 DHEA Mean 0.17 0.29 ( Ref range 0.20-0.70 nmol/L) DHEA: Cortisol Ratio 0.72 1.57 (Ref range 0.6-3.0 nmol/L) I was surprised to see that the DHEA was low this time when it was actually normal when I was at my worst 18 months ago, however the waking cortisol has improved a lot but after a couple of hours or so it appears to hit the deck (recently I suddenly have to stop what I am doing as it feels like my battery suddenly runs out & I have to sit a short while but not every day, I do suffer with low low blood sugar but this does not see to be the cause). I also took advice & went to my GP and asked for a referral to Dr Skinner, my GP agreed but then rang me to say she had changed her mind (due to the GMC hearing). She offered a referral to a local endocrinologist, I checked he treats with T3 (rarely) so accepted. She later said she would reconsider a ref to Dr Skinner later if unsuccessful with local endo! I also had lots of other tests from Genova for thyroid, I will post those separately but seems mainly Peroxidase (will need your help to understand rest please!) THANK YOU!
