The document says there are discounts at Genova Diagnostics for members of Thyroid Patient Advocacy UK, but I can't find anything on the website about how to become a member? Guest guest Posted January 8, 2012 Report Share Posted January 8, 2012 I got mine tested via Dr.Myhill for £17. The cost adds up when she does a paper consultation for you. But I believe that she will get the kit, send it to you, without the consultation. You get the bloods done elsewhere and send the results to the lab. Guest guest Posted January 9, 2012 Report Share Posted January 9, 2012 My GP agreed to testing T3 for the second test after being diagnosed Hypo. I just asked for that and all the Vits and Mins as per this great group. I have to say he was amazed at the results - as I had admitted to not taking the Thyroxine prescribed! He told me to carry on doing what I was doing and possibly add Vit D to my treatments. Then put me down to be retested in March. Go to http://health.groups//group/thyroid treatment (the Home page of this Forum) and in the Menu, click FILES. On the page that opens, scroll down the list of FOLDERS until you come to the one entitled 'Discounts on Tests and Supplements' and open that. Scroll down to 'Genova Diagnostics' and you will find the information you need there. You can get the 24 hour urine test that shows the level of thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) your body has actually used during those past 24 hours. This is the best test to get. Order according to the instructions there and tell them that Thyroid Patient Advocacy is your Practitioner in order to claim your discount.
