Guest guest
Further to my post about lab technicians deciding which tests they wil or won`t do, I rang my surgery today to see if my T4 and T3 had come in late.To my surprise, the T4 was there but I asked for a telephone appoiuntment. The GP rang after surgery and told me he had rung the lab on Friday afternoon to request the missing tests-he had the T3 result to give me. He also told me to expect the same procedure each time,- they would send the TSH and he would have to ring up and tell them to do what he had asked for!!! Anyway my results were TSH 4.5,FT4 7.7 and T3 5.0. My dosage now goes up to 20mcg in the morning and 10mcg in the afternoon.I then have to wait another 8 weeks for a test !! T3 still too low and TSH too high-up from 1.2 to 4.5 in six weeks. This still looks to me like undermedication driven by extreme caution-what do folks think ?
