Guest guest
Hi Sheila and everyone Please could you help me interpret my Adrenal Stress Test? I would have to say firstly - what a brilliant service I have got from Genova, exceptionally quick and efficient. My results have come back as: Cortisol Sample 1 (8am) 11.8 ref 12 to 22 Sample 2 (12) 10.8 ref 5 to 9 Sample 3 (4pm) 6.2 ref 3 to 7 Sample 4 (12) 1.7 ref 1 to 3 DHEA Sample 2 am 0.24 ref 0.2 to 0.7 Sample 3 pm 0.13 ref 0.6 to 3.0 They say this is resistance Stage 3 - Maladaption and I should be retested in a month. In context with a TSH pf 5.82, Free T3 of 4.1 and T4 11.7 does this mean anything and what should I do next? Many thanks Debs
Guest guest
Hi Debs Sample 1 (8am) 11.8 ref 12 to 22 - This is too low. Should be at its highest in the range to help you get through the day. Sample 2 (12) 10.8 ref 5 to 9 - This is outside the top of the reference range. Sample 3 (4pm) 6.2 ref 3 to 7 - This result should be about the middle of the range so is too high for this time of day. Sample 4 (12) 1.7 ref 1 to 3 - This result is OK as cortisol should be at its lowest to enable you to get to sleep. I wouldn't wait to get retested in a month Debs. You need to start some form of adrenal supplement such as Nutri Adrenal Extra now and before you start taking any thyroid hormone replacement. Whenever you post any test results, always include the reference range otherwise we cannot tell whether your results are at the bottom, the middle, the top or even outside of the range. Your TSH of 5.82 shows you are hypothyroidism, and your free T4 is too low. When not taking any form of thyroid hormone replacement free T4 should be just above the middle of the reference range, which I guess would mean yours should be around 17. Your Free T3 is very low too. If your GP is not prepared to start you on levothyroxine, then ask for a referral to an endocrinologist as you are definitely showing you are suffering with hypothyroidism.
