Guest guest
Series of questions here !!!! Firstly - Have just purchased the above from Value and ticked the box 'no prescription required' !! Is that correct? Yes, that is the way we used to get our orders from valuepharmaceuticals without a prescription, but I understood that from 10th January, they are no longer giving thyroid tablets without the patient first produces a doctors prescription. Secondly - have a well woman appointment tomorrow with my Dr. Last blood tests showed TSH 0.02 ( 0.4-5.0) and FT4 24.9 (12.0-23.0) So Dr reduced my Thyroxine from 150 to 125!!! Suggestions from TPA members was that possibly T4 was not being utilised. Kept on lower dose for a time until Hypo constipation occurred - was not going back down that route ever again!!! So went back to 150mcgs. I would explain this to the Well Women's clinic. If the thyroxine is not being converted to the active thyroid hormone T3 in the thyroid hormone receptors, it cannot be properly utilised at the cellular level and will lie in the blood with nowhere to go, and this is one reason why your free T4 level is above the top of the reference range. You may need to be prescribed T3 in combination with your T4. The T4 level should be lowered when introducing T3. I thought maybe I needed some T3 - so have been taking one grain of Armour in the morning and 150mcg of Levo at night - and I feel good!!! Three weeks now. Oh - I should have read all the way through your message. OK, but in that case, if this was me, I would lower my thyroxine by 50 mcgs, and increase my Armour by another 30mgs (half a tablet) and see how you feel on that. In another 3 weeks or so, I would lower my T4 by another 50mcgs and add in the other 30mgs Armour. This is a trial and you need to titrate your dose according to your symptoms and signs. TSH will become very suppressed for anybody taking any form of T3, so be prepared for that if your doctor tries to tell you that you are taking too much. Also, your free T4 will drop and your free T3 will be quite high in the reference range, so remember not to take any thyroid hormone, either T4 or Armour the morning that you have your blood drawn, otherwise the results will be flawed. At this stage, I am not sure whether it would be a good thing to tell your GP or not, because you want to carry on with your new protocol and he might do everything he can to stop you. I tend to play such things by ear, and once you know that this is definitely working for you, and that you are not going to go back on the 150 mcgs T4, then I would discuss what I had done with my doctor. Do I tell my Dr what I have done i.e. increasing the Thxroxine and adding Armour? Or do I just keep quiet?????? Luv - Sheila No virus found in this message. Sheila - went for my well woman check. Saw the practice nurse. Told her I was self medicating. May as well be hung for a sheep etc! showed the letter I gave to the Dr some months ago - did post it on here. Guest guest
A most definitely result - well done. There is Armour Thyroid, Nature Throid, Westhroid, Thyroid-s, 'Thiroid' - all natural desiccated porcine thyroid extract, but with different fillers that are all excellent. All these you can buy without a prescription from those reputable Internet Pharmacies in our FILES SECTION. As it is your money, you need to check what each of these pharmacies are charging, especially check the number of tablets you are buying. Most come in drums of 100, others in drums of 1000.
