Guest guest
Wow - that's actually really positive! And in a way it's great that they were bombarded to the point that they couldn't cope, because it really has made a point. They certainly were made aware of patient dissatisfaction! Hopefully that ripple will spread further. And well done, Sheila, for arranging to get a forum from the other perspective. Great stuff. x H > > So, I faced the fear and telephoned the administrator (Deborah) and have > been in discussion for the past hour. Guest guest
That's great news, Sheila, although I still don't know why they blocked me from Twitter. I had joined them yesterday but had no tweeted anything. Then Debs said they had blocked her on Twitter, so I went to see what was going on. I had not been on since I added them to my account. I was astounded to see that they had BLOCKED me when I had NOT tweeted at all! What did my Twitter account have anything to do with my interaction on the forum? Something does not sit right at all! Guest guest
Sheila this is good news to have our own TPA online clinic with our own TPA EXPERTS. It looks like the TPA have won and taken a big step forward. I am sure we all look forward to it, and we appear to have got our points and feelings across. WELL DONE SHEILA AND THE TPA. Guest guest
Brilliant. Good for you! Next December is a long time away, though. I hesitate to be too hopeful. Is Talkhealth a government entity or a private entity? Either way they should be unbiased as to treatment options which people have experience with - especially when those people are claiming treatment is working! Guest guest
You know I have tears, so grateful that the 'enemy within' has yet again been the instrument of even greater success for TPA and eternally grateful for your courage, commitment and determination - No darn Bank CEO who earns millions ever worked as hard or as committed as you -(and as a volunteer) Shelia you Deserve a Queens Honour for your work for thyroid patients you seriously do............ sniff F > > So, I faced the fear and telephoned the administrator (Deborah) and have > been in discussion for the past hour. Guest guest
You can always write to the Prime Minister to suggest it. That is how they know about ordinary folk who do good works. We could do a letter and get as many of us as possible to sign it, although I do not know how this can be done. Any ideas. Guest guest
I can now assure everybody that the thyroid Talk Health forum has closed to further messages being posted, but the 'thyroid experts' will be continuing to answer as many of the remaining messages as they can over the course of the next few days and then once the whole forum has been closed to both questioners and experts, the messages and answers will be automatically archived for the next 12 months and everybody can check through these at any time they wish. After 12 months, these will automatically disappear. Great work, Sheila J - thank you. Should make interesting reading. Do you know which link to use to get to the answers when they are available for us to read? – is it this one below? – and will there be an announcement to the effect that the answers are now in from the `talkhealth shop' or do we just have to keep trying to access and see? http://www.talkhealthpartnership.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=123 & start=0 love, xx
Guest guest
They will be sending me a link , which I will then post to each individual member. This hopefully will be in about a week, though if the experts are as slow to respond as they have been this past week, we will probably be waiting for ever. I doubt at that time that there will be very much left to read. Any controversial questions will have been removed, this time, probably at the request of the BTA experts, because they refuse to get into discussions about a diagnosis if a TSH is below 10, or discuss any other form of treatment other than T4, which works for everybody didn't you know - and if a question suggests anything other than a poorly functioning thyroid, pituitary, hypothalamus, then heaven forbid - you are suffering from a functional somatoform disorder, depression, non-specific symptoms and send you away. I am now, when I have time and messages slow down on this forum, going to thoroughly enjoy myself and write exactly how I feel about the BTA experts and their offerings of the last few days. I will be using lots of 's work, as I SO agree with everything he says, and adding in lots of my own. The Administrators of TalkHealth have promised they will pass it on to the BTA and to NHS Choices. Boy, whoever tipped the TH forum off that chunks of messages were going to be copied did me an enormous favour. I would never have had the opportunity to do this had they not done so. I will post a copy on the forum before it goes off and if anybody has got something they feel is VERY important to contribute, please send it to me at [sheila@...] but keep it as short as possible please. Guest guest
Just playing catch up - Brilliant well done - disappointed about the 'enemy within' - not sure why anyone would deliberately do that - but as you say - there was a silver lining! I had a thought about picking a day this year and bombarding our local MP's with a standard info letter that can be agreed and then if each person - obviously in UK - and there must be hundreds and hundreds of us - so hundreds of MP's!! It has to be catchy, bullet pointed factual with maybe a couple of short case studies (including our own personal one)??? All dated and all either handed over or posted to on the same day and requesting a response to what is the Govt going to do!? Just a thought people.
