Saw GP today who will do blood test (TSH + T4) - but NOT T3 unless T4 is

abnormal. Well at least a start.

I started by telling her a major sympton is Chronic Insomnia - her response -

You Are HyPER NOT HyPO. Saying " You would sleep if HyPO and Not sleep if

HyPER " . Well as far as I can tell from reading Insomnia is a common symptom of

HyPO?

This DR had Never heard of ARMOUR T, had to look it up on the computer & then

was horrified that I was self medicating on 1/2 grain which is the equiv of

100mcg of Levo according to her.... Proceeded to tell me all the dire

consequences to my health if I am taking AMOUR T when HyPER. (I told her I had

been under care of therapists for some while - - she seethed)

SHE SUGGESTED I STILL TAKE ARMOUR ON THE MORNING OF THE BLOOD TEST - THIS SEEMS

ODD TO ME?

My initial inclination was I should not be taking ARMOUR on the test day as it

will show a false reading?

But as I am new to the GP route I thought I would ask opinion of anyone here who

has more experience than me.

Thanks
