Guest guest
Thanks Sheila and for your recent responses to my test results. I appreciated your recommendations on what doses of some vits/mins I need and I have a few more questions on the same supplements: (Your responses are included below so I have typed my bits in capitals to differentiate - please don't take this to be 'shouting', I just want to make it easier to see what's mine and yours!)) iron: 11.7 (ref range 9.0 - 26.0) FAR too low - i HAVE STARTED TAKING 310MG FERROUS FUMERATE WHICH HAS 350UG FOLIC ACID IN, TOO - IS THIS A HIGH ENOUGH DOSE TO GET MY LEVELS UP? Magnesium, serum: 0.70 (0.65 - 1.050) Too low, start taking 500mgs magnesium citrate daily. I HAVE 500MG AMINO ACID CHELATED MAGNESIUM, IS THIS THE SAME AS OR AS GOOD AS MAGNESIUM CITRATE OR DO I NEED TO GET SOMETHING ELSE? Potassium: 3.9 (3.3-5.1) Too low, you can buy potassium supplements at a local pharmacy quite cheaply and you should take these. HOW MUCH PER DAY? Vit B12: 219 (185 & above) This could be the biggest culprit of all, this must be supplemented until it is right at the top of the range, which is somewhere around 750/800 mark. Take B12 1000mgs sublingual twice daily until your levels start to rise. I READ A POST SAYING SOLGAR DO A GOOD OONE BUT I CAN'T GET IT HERE. DO I JUST NEED TO LOOK FOR ONE THAT HAS THAT DOSE AND SAYS IT CAN BE TAKEN SUBLINGUALLY? DOES THAT JUST MEAN YOU LET IT DISSOLVE UNDER YOUR TONGUE? I THOUGHT I WAS OK AS I TOOK A B COMPLEX BUT THAT HAS ONLY 50 MCG! Folate, serum: 41 ( >12.9)(greater than 12.9 is ok?) Folate is too low IS THAT HE SAME AS FOLIC ACID? AS THE IRON HAS 350UG IN IT, WILL THAT BE ENOUGH TO HELP? I ALSO TAKE A B COMPLEX WHICH HAS 200MCG IN AND A MULTI. RE NUTRI ADRENAL, THEY STOPPED DELIVERING TO ASIA AS CUSTOMS ALWAYS CONFISCATE THEM - I HAVE BEEN TOLD HERE THAT I COULD TRY AND GET THEM IN BUT PARCELS ARE ALL HELD FOR COLLECTION AT POST OFFICES AND BEFORE YOU TAKE THEM AWAY YOU HAVE TO GET PAST A CUSTOMS INSPECTION -IF THEY THINK THE CONTENTS ARE SUSPICIOUS THEY CONFISCATE AND APPARETLY THEY SUSPECT VIT SUPPLEMENTS MIGHT BE DRUGS IN DISGUISE! I WILL GET ONE SENT TO FAMILY IN UK AND ASK THEM TO SEND IT ON AND SEE IF I GET LUCKY. Can you let me know the answers to the above as I am going to Bandar, the capital, next week and I know there is s shop there that sells supplements so I will try and get what you have recommended. FinallY: is it ok o take all these supplements together with breakfast ( my other mealls are hard to pin down and it's tricky to have the relevant tabes with me at all times)? And I keep reading about the need for balance of the likes of Bvits - I am assuming if my own doses are so imbalanced, then what I am taking needs to be imbalanced to sort things out? And you mention taking thimgs till my levels rise - how long should I take things before I get tests redone to see if there has been any change? Thankyou so much for your time and effort in helping me out, it's certainly making me feel a little less lost about things. Cheers,

See how you get on with this for the moment and eat foods that are very high in iron. ----------No experience of that one, but somebody else might come and tell us whether this is as good as Magnesium Citrate. I always recommend the latter. Potassium: 3.9 (3.3-5.1) Too low, you can buy potassium supplements at a local pharmacy quite cheaply and you should take these. HOW MUCH PER DAY? Speak to the pharmacist. Tell him/her the result of your test and they will recommend the supplement you should take and the dosage. I THOUGHT I WAS OK AS I TOOK A B COMPLEX BUT THAT HAS ONLY 50 MCG! You can buy Solgar B12 sublingual 1000mcgs online. Type Solgar B12 sublingual into your search engine and you have a wide choice of where to buy from. Yes - that should be fine. Can you let me know the answers to the above as I am going to Bandar, the capital, next week and I know there is s shop there that sells supplements so I will try and get what you have recommended. I appreciate you will not be able to get tests done to see whether your levels are rising , but would imagine you will know when some of your present symptoms start to go away and you are feeling better. If you can record your temperature each day (take it at the same time each day - and I appreciate you cannot do this three times a day as we usually recommend, but this should not fluctuate once your adrenal status is becoming more balanced. B vits are essential so get yourself a good brand vitamin B Complex. Never take iron anywhere near to thyroid meds - must be taken at least four hours away. I would say the rest should be fine to take in the morning. Luv - Sheila Cheers, No virus found in this message. Guest guest
Thanks a million, yet again, Sheila, for taking the time to answer my longwinded questions - you're like a light in the darkness! I will ask about a good pharmacy in Bandar for my visit there next week and seek advice there about potassium doses and if they have a sublingual B12 which I can take in the meantime until I can pick up mailorder Solgar ones in Aus on my June holiday. I'll also see if a pharmacist can advise me re any difference between mag crate an the one I have. I can easily hop back to Singapore to get tests redone and will be there at some stage this year anyway, so I can time my visit around when I should retest - can you or anyone let me know what's a reasonable length of time to leave the supplements to really get into my system and make a difference before I retest? I imagine it's quite a while? Thanks again! Cheers, > Magnesium, serum: 0.70 (0.65 - 1.050) Too low, start taking 500mgs magnesium > citrate daily.
