Guest guest
How do you know if you are taking enough thyroid replacement ? Is going by your temperature and pulse a good indicator that the thyroid hormone is getting into your cells ? Temps today are 36.6, 36.8, 36.9. I feel well tired due to being pregnant. I am needing more sleep but think this is just my hormones. I am trying to work out when to increase my T3 as I read during pregnancy women can increase their thyroid medication up to 30%. I tried to increase mine but ended up with high FT3 and heart palps ? Had blood tests for FT3 TSH results are due tomorrow. Just want to make sure the baby is getting enough. Currently taking 31.75 cynomel. My temps are stable and pulse is ok between 80-90s. Thanks again
Guest guest
You know when you don't have any symptoms and not showing any signs. If I titrated my dose according to my temperature, I would probably be on a huge dose, because no matter what I do, my temperature is always low, but I am well, strong, rosy with no symptoms of hypothyroidism whatsoever - apart from very dry skin which I spend a fortune on keeping it well moisturised, but I think that is more because I have need to take diuretics for water retention. Checking your temperature is more to do with your adrenal status. Titrate your T3 until you find the dose where you feel best, without feeling hyPER, without getting palpitations. Let us know the results as soon as you have them, Luv - Sheila How do you know if you are taking enough thyroid replacement ? Guest guest
Hi Sheila Thank you for replying to me. My blood results today are ft3 4.4 (4-6.8) tsh0.6. I did come off the t3 for a couple of days ago as my ft3 was high and I was getting palpitations as advised by Dr P. So I am working my way back up. Should I leave my dose at it is or increase a little. current dose is 31.75 t3. I realise i need my ft3 in the upper part of the range especially whilst I'm pregnant (in 7th week). I was taking 37.75 prior to coming off t3 for a couple of days which led to the high ft3 of 10.7 (mid jan) and ft3 of 17 beginning of January. Thank you :-) > > You know when you don't have any symptoms and not showing any signs.
