Guest guest
I think it is hard to to get the FT3 in range when using it. If you are well then this is the key to whether you are on enough. Fluctuating temps do indicate the adrenals cannot handle the thyroid you are giving it. The thyroid is using up the cortisol faster than what the adrenals can make. A possible solution is to reduce down the thyroid meds. Also use the vits and minerals to support the adrenals. you are on 144 T4 and 36 T3 on 4 grains. I myself find using synthetic T4/T3 easier to give my body what it needs. I wonder how you would feel on 100 T4 and 50 T3 ? You could reduce down the grains and then increase the T3 using synthetic. > TSH 0.01 Range 0.27-4.2 > Free T4 17.4 Range 12.0-22.0 > Free T3 9.3 Range 3.1-6.8 > > Can anyone tell me if these figures are ok? I know I should expect suppressed TSH when taking Erfa but I am not sure what the implications of the high T3 are. Guest guest
Hello, Your High T3 only shows that you have a high level in your bnloodstream, you would need to track other signs such as heartrate, blood pressure along with temps to find out if you are actually getting too much T3 into your cells. If you don't have any symptoms of being overactive, then I wouldn't worry about one hight T3 blood test, and would proabbaly put it down to taking 2 gr erfa within 12 hrs of a test. But a couple of questions - why do you take 2 gr at 11pm at night? What is the rest of your dosing regime? And are you taking any other vitamin/mineral supplements along with your efra? Nadia > I posted about this a couple of days ago but haven't really had much in the way of a reply so am reposting. > > I take 4 grains of Erfa a day and have been feeling great until recently when my daytime temps began to range between 36.4 in the morning and 35.2 in the afternoon. I log my temps on a Dr Rinds temperature graph and the line is one of massive up and down zigzags, which makes me think my adrenals are not right. So I stopped the Erfa for a week and began to take NAX and Adrenomax again. After a week I began the Erfa again too. > > I am now beginning to feel really good again but my latest blood test results, which arrived on Wednesday show the following results; > > TSH 0.01 Range 0.27-4.2 > Free T4 17.4 Range 12.0-22.0 > Free T3 9.3 Range 3.1-6.8 > > Can anyone tell me if these figures are ok? Guest guest
Thanks ! I'll investigate this. McGowan > A possible solution is to reduce down the thyroid meds. Guest guest
Hi Nadia. I take my two grains of Erfa at night as I read some stuff on this forum saying it was a good idea to take it last thing as it had a positive effect on Cortisol levels. I take my other 2 grains at about 1pm. As for supplements, I take Vit D3, selenium, zinc, magnesium, Q10, 3 grams vit C, spatone, 1 NAX and 1 Adrenomax a day. Guest guest
Hi again, You may be interested in the book " Recovering with T3 " by Rpbinson. he has done a lot of research about T3 affecting corstisol results, and the conclusion he comes to is that there is a wondow of time he calls the 'main cortisol production window' which is the 4 hours before we wake up that is the best time to take T3 in order to measurably increase cortisol production. He calls this the circadian T3 method. He suggests setting an alarm 1/2 hr before you wake up to take your T3 and then move it back by half an hour every week minimum (ideally every couple of weeks) until you notice results in signs and symptoms (how you are feeling, body temps etc). I am at a very early stage of putting 's methids into practice, but laready have noticed that if I am woken up early by my daughter and take my meds then, even if I don't go back to sleep but just doze, that I actually feel better during the day. His book is very good reading, even if you aren't going onto a T3 only protocol, and I got my local library to buy a copy. TPA also has a copy int he lending library. (this is a VERY brief overview and by no means complete info on this topic!) I just thought this might be of interested to you.
