Glad to hear you will see Dr. P. in March. You will be pleasantly surprised. He is a doctor like no other..... Constant yawning could well be a sign for hypo, seeing that excessive tiredness certainly is one. Best wishes,
Guest guest
Hello Helene Yawning a lot is also a sign of fatigued adrenals. Some months ago this was mentioned to me, I had never heard this before. When my adrenals were in 'fatigued' state I yawned A Lot, since I have improved adrenal function with supplements, I don't yawn in the day now. JT > > > > Hello. Guest guest
Thanks for replies. Still really confused by symptoms, so hoping blood tests will sort things out. For instance I don't have puffy writsts, but keep waking up with dead hands, one or both - quite often. This morning I woke up with 2 dead hands - loud ringing in the ears and a muzzy headache. Energy levels are a bit up & down. Once I'm up & about the morning is my best time - feel quite fatigued in the afternoon & early evening. If I don't go to bed by 10.00 pm then it's too late I'm wide awake & can't sleep. Often wake up in the night & can't sleep - I don't yawn then. Any ideas? Helene > > Hello. Guest guest
Hello Helene Your 'dead hands' sounds like something I suffered with years ago - repetitive strain injury or carpal tunnel syndrome. It's very painful and only ever bothered me in bed. I had surgery on one but didn't want the other one done. I later discovered it's a symptom of hypothyroidism and I believe it's due to inflammation or being overweight causing pressure on the nerve which runs through the wrist to the hand. Here's a link to read about the connection: http://www.naturalnews.com/026883_thyroid_symptoms_carpal_tunnel_syndrome.html Jackie x > > Thanks for replies. For instance I don't have puffy writsts, but keep waking up with dead hands, one or both - quite often. This morning I woke up with 2 dead hands - loud ringing in the ears and a muzzy headache. Hiya Helene, I just wanted to say that I suffered with the waking up and having " Dead " hands too, along with bad pins and needles in my hands, and when I went to see my GP about it, he diagnosed me with Hypothyroidism, my TSH was 28.6! This was the very first symptom that I had before I was diagnosed with this, boy did they come thick and fast since then! I have read that a lot of people suffer from this and that it is a symptom of hypothyroidism.... (carpal tunnel syndrome) down to all the swelling with fluid because of the hypothyroidism. So for me, this went away eventually, when I went on to T3, I may add, as I didnt get better on levothyroxine ...one of the many! Also, my GP gave me diuretics to try and ease the fluid in my hands/wrists but I guess that because It was down to me being hypo, that they made me ill for some reason, and I really went down hill from then on in. I am sorry I havent got any answers for you, but I have heard that when you dont get to bed by 10 pm, and then you wake and cant drift off to sleep again, then this is down to you adrenals............ Take care x
Guest guest
Helen, your temperatures are low and they certainly drop very low at night. This could be related to low adrenal reserve and skin turning a pale yellowy colour is a sign too. I would get the 24 hour salivary adrenal profile test done through Genova Diagnostics. Go to our FILES SECTION accessible from the Home Page of this forum. On the page that opens, scroll down to 'Discounts on Tests and Supplements' and open the 'Genova Diagnostics' document there. Follow the instructions for ordering the adrenal saliva test. Once they send your results to you, post them on the forum and we will help with their interpretation. You can check the symptoms of hypothyroidism in our web site. Go to www.tpa-uk.org.uk and click 'Hypothyroidism' in the Menu, and in the drop down Menu, click on 'Symptoms and Signs' and check your symptoms and signs against the long list there. Luv - Sheila Have sent for a private blood test & arranged to see Dr. P in March. I wondered if exhessive yawning is a thyroid symptom. I yawn constantly & go drowsy if I get too cold & feel like all energy has been drained out. Takes ages to get warm up again. Hands & feet go very cold, skin goes a pale yellowy colour. I yawn a lot when I have a migraine too. No virus found in this message.
