Hello

Erfa contains T3. T3 is the active thyroid hormone and it has a

very short half life. It peaks in the blood between 2 to 3 hours after taking

it, and the effect lasts for approximately 6 to 8 hours. So, it is recommended

taking half the dose when you wake, and the other half around 2.00p.m. to

3.00p.m. to keep the T3 topped up. Some people do fine taking all their thyroid

extract at one go - so if you are doing OK with taking it that way, don't

worry. However, as the need to increase the dose might occur, you might find

taking it all at once might cause some symptoms of hyperthyroidism for a while,

so then try splitting the dose to see if that would help.

Can you advise whether it is

better to split our doses of Erfa and why? I take 3 grains and take it

all at once in the morning. I have read that people do it differently but

wondered what the consensus was please?

Thanks
