" It seems Simpson is spending some of her post-separation days getting both her mind and her body healthier. If she is, she might want to think about eating dark chocolate and buying herself some flowers. In a 2005 issue of Newsweek magazine, dark chocolate was reported as being a " superfood " because it contains lots of antioxidants, which may help prevent cancer and can improve your health. According to Pratt, co-author of " Superfoods Rx, " dark chocolate " boosts the production of nitric oxide in blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow. " He went on to compare dark chocolate to green tea in terms of health benefits. Now if you love chocolate, that's good news-but only if you love dark chocolate because milk chocolate doesn't have the same benefits. If someone in your life loves dark chocolate, there's a simple way you can make it even healthier for that person; have some delicious dark chocolate delivered with a beautiful bouquet or arrangement of flowers. You probably already know that when you send someone flowers, it makes them happy, and happiness is always good for your health. But, if that's not reason enough to send flowers, consider the results of these studies conducted by the Society of American Florists (SAF) in conjunction with researchers from various universities in the U.S.: * SAF's Emotional Impact of Flowers Study: This study scientifically proved that flowers make people happy immediately upon receiving them. Furthermore, that happiness lasts for a long time, and these happy people make more connections with other people, thus spreading their happiness. * SAF's Flowers & Seniors Study: Senior citizens who receive flowers experience less depression than those who don't. They also score higher on memory tests and make the effort to seek out conversations with other people. * SAF's Impact of Flowers & Plants on Workplace Productivity Study: When flowers and plants are present in the workplace, people are better able to perform their job duties. They're more productive and come up with more creative solutions to problems. Obviously, when you're able to perform well on the job, you'll experience less workplace stress. Considering Simpson's recent glowing health, perhaps one of her many suitors sent her some flowers accompanied by a big box of dark chocolate? --------------------------------------------------------------------- Wesley Berry is member of the American Academy of Floriculture (AAF) and President of Wesley Berry Flowers (http://www.wesleyberryflowers.com), a successful multi-million dollar floral business that was established in 1946.
