Hi Judy - yes, Genova do give TPA members a discount for the 24

hour urine test (T4 and T4). The normal cost is £104 and the TPA discounted

test is £88.40

I would not do the reverse T3 .

I cannot imagine your GP refusing to do the minerals and vitamin

tests to see if they are low. Take with you a copy of the attached document to

show the association between low levels and low thyroid. Your GP should also

test iron, transferrin saturation%, ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3,

magnesium and folate too.

I printed off the Genova tests discounts doc.

There does not seem to be mentioned the:-

'Thyroid Urine Test' T3 & T4.

I called Genova this morn and they said don't think there is a discount for

this one? So just checking before I order it.

Reverse T3

Not sure whether to do this now, or wait to see what the Urine T3/T4 shows -

any advice?

it gives info - order direct from kitorders@... (or telephone etc)

If this is a web link it does not work?

Used the automated tel system - & assume this works OK....

and I will get the discount you mention below - as when I called and spoke to a

person they did not think discount applied to this test....

It's not a web line, this is an email address. You click on it

and up comes the page so that you can place your order - click 'Send' and it

goes direct to the Office at Genova where tests are ordered. They will send you

the necessary kits and then when you return your samples, you send the money.

Don't worry about what anybody tells you on the phone or email,

TPA has an arrangement with the 'bosses' of Genova who have agreed the

discounts and has had for quite some time.
