My Consultant basically said we have a difference of opinion and he thinks I am

on enough Armour and suggested I try and see Dr Peatfield instead?? I told him I

was suffering from increasingly bad depression particularly since the death of

my Grandmother and was having trouble working and he ignored me. The midwife

asked to see me afterwards and asked if I was happy to be referred to the Mental

Health Consultant!!!

I said yes because I am scared of how I feel and terrified it will get worse

after birth if my levels are not resolved soon.

> Based on your FT3 and FT4 results I would say that no, you shouldn't increase

Armour, you need to add in some levothyroxine to get your FT4 level up.

Hopefully this is what they have advised you to do. If they are worried that

your TSH is suppressed the obvious

answer is that it will be because you are taking a form of T3.

The consultant won't prescribe T4 as well as he says it will muddy the water and

we won't know which drug is doing what!!! (I can't help but feel this man is

missing the point)

> I hope they've given you a prescription for levothyroxine! Otherwise is your

GP approachable, they might be willing to write you a script for 25mcg or 50mcg?

I very much doubt it because they won't go against the Endo but I may need to

try if nothing else comes up. I am willing to pay but I am not sure I would get

a referral to Dr Skinner from my surgery.

I am so scared of suffering with depression when the baby is born and am racked

with guilt for not feeling as I ought to now. My partner is trying to understand

but I know it is affecting our relationship and for him the pregnancy of his

first child which seems so unfair.

If anyone can help me please do as I am feeling so helpless right now.
