Guest guest
That’s great news, too! You’re holding your own against the wicked dragon! Way to GO, my friend. De Re: Blood test results Thanks De! Me too! My Hemoglobin A1C was actually 6.3, 2 tenths of a point from upper limit of normal. Guest guest
Are you on anything that contains T3 e.g. NDT or T3? If so did you take it the morning of the test?Lilian I've just received the following blood test results. Can anyone translate them please, as I'm a bit flummoxed by them. Looking at them, my T4 seems ok but my T3 is too high. Is this right and, if so, what are the implications of it?
Guest guest
Hello Everyone Can you comment on my latest test results please? They were a little surprising and I am not sure where I go from here so any help would be be welcome. Blood tests on 30mcg T3 since 10th Jan TSH 0.9 from 4.5 last time (early January) FT4 4.4 from 7.7 last time FT3 4.5 from 5.0 last time I have no improvement in symptoms as such though I have better spells but they dont last for more than a few hours. I suspect continued undermedication but when I see my GP he will freak out at raising the dose on such a TSH. He hates the idea of a suppressed TSH, he cannot get his head round the idea that T3 has that effect. I am more concerned about the low FT4,should it be that low? Could the TSH just be unstable ? I had low antibodies at my test last year so they disregarded that. I know it is only a snapshot and I have family history. I was kept on low dosage of T4 (75mcg) so when I started on T4/T3 combination, lowering the T4 while introducing the T3 and then raising it and taking into account the X 4 factor-there was very little room for manoeuvre before the T4 was stopped altogether. As a result, I have no idea what my optimal dose is on either,so I am a bit stymied. Thanks Chrissie
Guest guest
Hello Sheila Thank you so much for the interpetation which formed part of my notes for my GP today. As I feared, he was `freaking` out at the idea of upping the dose of T3 and adding T4 with a TSH of 0.9.He sat and worked out his formula-the strength of both and announced he would either up the T3 to 40mcg or he would add the T4 but not both !!! Caution is his middle name!! I opted for the additional T4. It cannot help that my blood pressure is rather high now, 180/90 and he has put me on doxazosin along with the bendroflumethiazide. He did always said he would work with me till my TSH was @1.0, but not really low or suppressed I think I might be at the end of the road with this GP, but he wants to test again in 3 months, so I will see what happens then.As my blood pressure is very unstable and has been since 1995 ( year I was TSH 3.3 and never diagnosed!!) and has risen from 160/80 in a month,I am reluctant to move on this at this time without proper medical support, but frankly I have been the one supporting him, feeding him info. Dreadful isnt it ?
