Guest guest
Hello Red Clover, can you let us know the results of your thyroid function test results please together with the reference range for each of the tests done. We do not advise stopping thyroid hormone replacement for a few days before blood is drawn, we recommend stopping them from the day before ONLY. Stopping for so long would naturally show your levels were dropping. How do you actually feel do you still carry some of the symptoms of hypothyroidism? How much thyroid hormone are you taking and when did you last increase this. You don't say how old you are. Go on….we won't tell *grin* I too have crepey skin on my arms and chest, but I put this down to the fact that I have been taking diuretics for about the past 20 years, life is horrendous if I don't, and think this is a sort of dehydration but I do drink lots of water, and take sips of 'sole' made with Himalayan Saturated Solution every mornings to keep my electrolytes and fluid level balanced. Luv - Sheila Suddenly c. 2 months ago the skin om the thumb side of my hands and foreams started to crepe. It is not dry. I am beginning to look like Ayesha in She at the end of the movie & I have also developed deep furrows in my face. People who know me have commented on it as it has happened so quickly. Does anyone on here have this? Know anything about it? I am wondering if this is a pituitary problem? Isn't rapid aging something to do with growth hormone? Or ACTH? Guest guest
I am wondering if this aging thing with the skin is anything to do with thyroid acropachy, thyroid dermopathy and thyroid pretibial disease? There appears to be a lack of info on this so it will be yet another under researched and poorly understood aspect. I too have this premature aging thing and have found it has got considerably worse since stopping the meds. Meanwhile if anyone has any links to any in depth info on the above I would be grateful.
