Guest guest
Since physicians are personally responsible for anything going wrong with NDT and not responsible for anything going wrong with T4, which do you think that they are going to prescribe? This is policy adversely influencing prescription decisions..... Have a great day, > I also rang the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman and had a nice chat with a man there regarding how to go about complaining about lack of NDT etc and he said that it is difficult as they can only point out policy issues, not clinical decisions on treatment. We have to complain to the DofH, but they simply refer to the guidelines issued by the RCP etc as they are deemed to be the experts. He did say the only way that this sort of thing has been resolved in the past is in the courts eg lack of cancer drugs available on the NHS. > > Not particularly helpful but it shows how difficult it is to get past the dogmatic backwards 'experts' and their ridiculous ideas of what warrants effective treatment. > > Cat. >
Guest guest
Cat - the VERY serious problem is that THERE ARE NO GUIDELINES in the UK on the diagnosis and management of hypothyroidism, only the RCP Statement on the diagnosis and management of Primary hypothyroidism - so the DoH should NOT be pointing you in the direction of the RCP - the very people who are causing all these problems. And yes, I too believe the only way we will bring about change is through the courts, but then, we need money.
