Guest guest
Get yourself to a chiropractor - after so long you probably have a few misalignments in your spine/shoulders etc. Even the tiniest misalignment can cause massive pain - I have a slight on in two vertebrae in my lower back, almost indetectable but it puts everything out of place enough that the muscles attached to those vertebrae are under pressure, that causes them to go into spasm if I do too much physical work, and that in turn pulls on my bum muscles, which in turn pull on my right hamstrings. So from one teeny wonkiness in two vertbrae, I can be in absolute agony and unable to move from the mid-back right down to my knee at times, and with pain going right down to my toes on very bad days. And because I'm compensating for the pain, I can start to have problems in my upper back and neck too - one tiny problem causes so much trouble because it puts the whole system out of whack. Bit like a duff thyroid, actually! Only thing that's ever worked for long is a chiropractor - BUT I would only recommend a McTimoney chiro. I've used the normal ones - cost me just shy of £30 a session and about 30 sessions to do any lasting good when I first had crippling pain. So last time I saw a McTimoney chiro (I know of them as I have one for my dogs) - I've seen her twice, cost me £70 total and she's done more good than the regular one ever did! Have a look here: http://www.mctimoneychiropractic.org/ The main difference is massage - a McTim will give you a thorough deep massage first, then make very gentle adjustments - no popping of bones, just little nudges to get everything back in place. Because your muscles are relaxed from the massage, minimal pressure is needed to put things back, and the adjustments also hold a lot better again because the muscles are relaxed - totally different to the normal chiro approach of much popping and crunching and force.
