Can anyone help before tomorrow?

Dear all,

I am seeing a GP tomorrow armed with results. I don't fully understand although

I can see the 24 hour urine thyroid hormones are low. I did post ( & #9839;98356)

but received no response as yet (I understand Sheila is occupied so no prob).

Is there anyone else who could help me understand please?

This is the FIRST abnormal result over YEARS of suspect hypothyroidism, apart

from raised antibodies 6 months ago & again recently (which I had to request

despite Vitiligo which is automimmune too).

(24 hour urine Genova)

Triiodothyronine (T3) 364 (low) (ref 592-1850 pomp/24h)

Thyroxine (T4) 856 (ref 347-1994)

T3:T4 ratio 0.4 (low) (ref 0.5-2.0)

It says " functional hypothyroidism " does this mean I can stand up and function?

I have an A4 sheet of symptoms that seem typical of hypo. I struggle daily

with miriads of symptoms. Is that normal at this level? Is this only the

beginning of thyroid probs? My mother thinks I have had hypo symptoms since I

had glandular fever at 17years (now 56). I too have suspected it for years but

normal TSH.

Another result is Blood Total Thyroid Screen (Genova):-

CENTRAL THYROID REGULATION & ACTIVITY

Total thyroxine (T4) 83.4 (ref 58-154)

TSH 1.96m (ref 0.4-4)

Free Thyroxine (FT4) 12.0 (ref 10-22)

PERIPHERAL THYROID FUNCTION

Free T3 (FT3) 4.38 (ref 2.8-6.5)

FT4:FT3 Ratio 2.7 (ref 2.0-4.5)

THYROID AUTOIMMUNITY

Thyroglobulin (TG) 24.1 (Ref 0-40)

Peroxidase 387 (high) (ref 0-35)

Can anyone explain what is going on?

I also have hypophosphatasia (I lack the enzyme which knocks of phosphate, it

is a rare metabolic disease, it means I cant take B6 in the form of pyridoxil 5

phosphate etc, it brings its own problems which make it difficult for me to know

what symptoms are from what.

I had my adrenal stress profile done too which Sheila kindly answered but I have

pasted it so you can see the whole picture. Basically the corsisol dips to low

at the second morning sample (15.1 waking, 3.0 second sample (low), 3.4 third

sample and 2.1 bedtime). DHEA 0.20 Sample 2 (am), 0.14 sample 3 (pm) low. DHEA

Mean 0.17 (ref 0.20-0.70) and DHEA Cortisol Ratio 0.72 (ref 0.6-3.0)

I know this is short notice now so I understand if no time before tomorrow but

would just be useful to have an understanding of just what is going on before I

see her tomorrow - + I would love to know to as I cant wait to get better!!

Many thanks,
