Guest guest Posted January 14, 2002 Report Share Posted January 14, 2002 Top teams vie for Dhyan Chand Cup The Statesman 14th January, 2001-New Delhi NEW DELHI, Jan.13. - Several top teams of the country including Air India (Mumbai) will vie for top honours in the fourth Chhatrapati Shivaji All-India Hockey Tournament for Dhyan Chand Cup to be starting at Shivaji Stadium here from 29th January and the final will be played on 5th February, a press release issued by the tournament organizers, said here today. Besides IA, the other teams include Punjab and Sindh Bank (Jalandhar), Bharat Petroleum (Mumbai), JR India Hockey team, BSF (Jalandhar), Sikh Regiment Centre, Indian Air Force and Delhi eleven. According to Sahib Singh Verma, the Chairman of the organising committee, the tournament is dedicated to fight against terrorism and HIV/AIDS. The organising committee has decided to award a trophy for 'Hit the target' to the highest scorer of the tournament and also award man of the match in each of the matches with a slogan fight against HIV/AIDS.
