Guest guest
I think it must vary quite a bit across the country - perhaps it depends on the opinion of whoever is in charge of the lab? My current GP, although useless in other respects, routinely gets my T3 tested. She doesn't have to give any reason to the lab for her request. That is great news about T3 in Germany. Maybe I should emigrate? When I had a diagnosis of ME/CFS and my previous GP didn't know what to do with me, he referred me to the homeopathic hospital in Bristol and I attended there for 2 years. They tried all kinds of homeopathic treatments and none of them did anything. Homeopathy may be helpful for some, but I don't see how it can be a substitute for T3. If you need T3, you need T3. Dr Lowe stresses in his book, " Your guide to metabolic health " , that however many lifestyle improvements you make, 90% of people with lowered metabolism need appropriate thyroid treatment. She is German and says this is how it is in Germany. > > Wow, cannot believe my luck. She has in the meantime suggested homeopathy and I am in the middle of this. Thyroxine does what it says on the tin so my hypothyroidism is well controlled. BUT I have an allergic type reaction to it and I am having to take 10mg of Prednisolone at present. This cannot go on so if the homeopathy is not successful I will try changing to T3. > > Any views on homeopathy? > > >
Guest guest
This happens often. You need to get the GP to write something special on the lab request like 'this lady must have FT3 tested because we believe that there is a serious issue occurring with low T3 levels'. She could even just do a one off FT3 test - with only that and the comment on the lab request - hard to ignore this. It has happened to me at times but I always get my doctor to write an essay on the lab request now - I don't trust the buggers anymore.
