Guest guest
Let the authorities know that your hours have been cut and that you need assistance. You need to show them proof in writing such as your pay stubs, deposit slips, etc...It is true as far as I know that Vocational Rehab will only assist you in finding a replacement job if you lose the present job. They are not funded to help when your hours are cut. Start writing a journal verifying your hours scheduled, who slashed the hours and why. Keep all conversations from those in your work place in your journal as well as you need proof of what is going on, not just he said she said you said type information but concrete evidence. Please take careHugs Love & Prayersette
Guest guest
You didn't mention where you live Mcs, Pizza Huts, Shoprite and Walmart are very good about hiring those with disabilities. If you are only working 4 hours a week it should not affect your SSI payments. You can make up to $975. per month. That is horrible, the one place anyone should be able to find sanctuary, comfort, and support and you are being treated like this. Guest guest
Who can you talk to at your church? That might be the best place to start, if they have volunteers already, maybe you could ask if you could be a back up person to help the volunteers, if the person would become ill then to could be of help. Usually the best way to start is slowly, take small step, crawling step, I know the impulse is to want to jump right in, but sometimes change takes times and then you work your way into being the volunteer you want to be. Remember use small steps and you can work your way into the volunteer job you want, I not promising it will work, but you have a better possibility with small steps than attempting mandating, because mandating does not work. Guest guest
Hi Channing It is good to hear from you again! and it is great that you are working so hard to get yourself as best you can be. I know that aspergers is tough, for the son of one of my friends has it too. and folks don't seem to understand as one would hope. I recall that you were trying so hard to get a job, and that as for so many other folks nowadays, you were having a really tough time with that too. which of course meant that you ran out of money for the things you needed to do and wanted, like those haircuts One good thing anyway is that on the Internet, you don't need pens and paper and stamps and all that! My budget is sure helped by not having to buy those, because I can't afford everything either! I am so glad though that you do get money to pay for the rent. That would be really tough to have to try to find money for THAT! I hope you will be able to find some ways to make that tiny amount of cash you get pay for the thing like soap and shampoo and all, as tough as I bet that is! And that hopefully some jobs will become open for you, and that you will be so happy and helpful and all that they will want you to come back. Meanwhile, I know it must be so very tough! Keep at it, like you are!! best to you, Jean From: Channing Ashbaugh Sent: Thursday, April 30, 2009 7:58 AM Subject: Hello Everyone I am a female with Autism- The Aspergers kind. Guest guest
Channing can you ask your mother to cut your hair, I trim my daughter hair if the need a little trim. Maybe if you ask one of the caretaker in the group home they cut trim your hair. What about at the church, is there anyone who would be will to help you out. I really do not think cutting your own hair is the best idea. You might look nice with long hair, did you ever think of that? I pull it back for her and she wears a braid down the back. She loves having long hair, because when she turns her braid swings. Ask Jen if she would like me to cut her hair now that she is 20 years old, at first she said " Yes " . after a while I asked her again and she was very insistent " No " over and over again. Maybe if you would let your hair grow long you might like long hair. You can create a lot of very cool hair styles. Bev > > I am a female with Autism- The Aspergers kind. I got the special hair cutting scissors that you`re supposed to use only for hair and that helped. And a comb with lots of little teeth, instead of the big teeth comb I use to untangle my hair. And a spray bottle with leave-in conditioner in it. I have not much trouble cutting my own hair now, but it did take some practice! Guest guest
Hello Channing, I'm not sure which e mail you would like me to use. There are so many and the channing28270 is listed once with and once with gmail. Can you tell me which is the best e mail address to use to talk with you? Can you tell me how old you are and what kind of job you have? Maybe I could help you get a different job that offers more hours so that you could work more and make more money. I am very sorry that I missed this e mail until now. Do you still need some of the items on your list? IF so, e mail me with a mailing address that I could send you some things to help you out. Sincerely, Debbie Gravois P.S. I have a 14 year old son with autism and I hope that he can write as well as you can one day. Guest guest
So sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. Are you getting stim into the foot and ankle? If not, you might need an adjustment, or another lead. That's the problem with the oral pain meds, after awhile, the body builds up a tolerance for them. The meds stop working, requiring higher and higher doses. I hope you feel better soon Sue C ________________________________ From: Tammy <tammytam20052000@...> Stimulator Sent: Sunday, July 12, 2009 9:02:36 PM Subject: RE: hello everyone Great Thank u so MUCH for everything.. ..
