Guest guest
Hi, I'm currently on 125mcg Levothyroxine and as far are my GP is concerned my TFT levels are OK but unfortunately she's not interested in how I actually feel, only in the test results, so I think it's time I started taking control of the situation. I'm considering starting taking iodine supplements which someone has suggested to me. I was wondering if anyone else has tried this and if so, has it helped at all? Ideally I'd like to get an iodine loading test but apparently it's not available in the UK so are there any other tests anyone could suggest that might show whether iodine might be helpful or that would show if my levels have improved after taking it? Many thanks
Guest guest
This is all very intriguing. My Genova report showed Hasi's but also a likely iodine deficiency - it was that or that I was taking T3 (my T3 was high). So what do I do if it is a deficiency, and iodine is contraindicated for autoimmune? Brilliantly, I've been offered free tests - pre, during and post supplements - and apparently it's going to be done with a new blood testing system that is more accurate. I'm intrigued certainly and the results will be interesting. Just got to wait for the new tests to arrive - they are *very* new lol!
