Guest guest
Hi Since my last appointment with the endo last December, he advised me to stop Levothyroxine (much to my delight!) and asked me to take some blood tests on week two, four and six. Since stopping the levo, I was feeling much better - amazingly, most of my hypo symptoms disappeared. My body temperatures are in the normal ranges. The whooshing feelings in my legs become less and less as well as my fatigue. I'm due to see the endo - I'm dreading about the results from weeks 2, 4 and 6. If my TSH is rising, he may ask me to take levo which I'm not keen. Also he thinks that my thyroid might be working?!? I will appreciate your help and advice prior to my appt with the endo. Issy PS I'm so shocked to learn about Dr Skinner - I wish they leave him alone and get him to do his wonderful job with the thyroid patients. Guest guest
Go to our FILES section and check out the 'Information for Patients' folder and in there, you will find a document entitled 'First visit to Endocrinologist'. There you will find lots of tips about questions you should ask, taking a friend/partner with you etc etc, writing down questions you need to ask before going to see h im/her etc. Be aware that thyroxine lasts in the body for up to 6 weeks, and once it has all disappeared, you might find some of your symptoms starting to creep back, but you may be one of the lucky one's Issy. Let's wait and see what the endocrinologist recommends, and good luck for Tuesday. Also, let us know the results of these specific thyroid function tests when they come back, and give the reference range for each test done too. It will be very interesting to see these.
