Guest guest
wrote yesterday (99656) and would appreciate if someone could answer for me as I have now totally gone off T3 today as need to see if throbbing throat and breathing settle down. So far still finding it uncomfortable. Should I just stay off for a period of time and then go back on or leave it till I see Dr P end of March? Also should I go back on NAX for a time until I get sorted out? Appreciate help with this Many Thanks Pam
Guest guest
What were you taking exactly Pam and what times were you taking it? >
Guest guest
Hi Pam I have also been suffering with throbbing pain in my throat for quite a few months now. I too assumed that T3 was aggravating it so I stopped taking it. I was on 5mcg initially, then upped to 10mcg but when I tried increasing to 15mcg the pain flared up quite bad and I stopped taking it. The pain did seem to settle a little on stopping T3 but never quite went away totally. Recently it has flared up again, so in my own experience, T3 isn't the actual cause of the pain, although it might have made it worse when I increased my dose. I also tried Thyroid-S (natural thyroid) but the same thing happened. Rather than stopping your T3 totally, maybe you could try reducing the dosage slightly to see if this makes a difference. Do you take any thyroxine? Guest guest
Hi Gill, Thank you for you thoughts on this, I had the same with Erfa, when I got to a certain level the throbbing became quite severe but with this I am also having some restrictions in breathing which is making me feel a little anxious at the same time. Guest guest
> > > Hi or maybe Sheila, just wondering what your thoughts are on my answer of timing of my T3? Do you think I should go back onto it again but very low dose or leave it? this is my second of not taking any T3, throbbing throat has eased a little and breathing I think a little eased too but all still there. Appreciate any answer that may direact me in the right direction Pam
Guest guest
I am now 4 days totally off T3, am on nothing, but I am still having the throbbing in my neck/throat and more on the left side, what causes this, is it safe and will it settle down soon? Guest guest
To be honest Pam I'm not sure - this could be some sort of Hashimoto's flare up - do you have thyroid autoantibodies? If you need T3 to feel well in other respects then I wouldn't stop it. Can you reply here and then email me to say you've posted it with the link to your message. I don't get notifications and unless someone points out to me that there is a message then I don't get to find out. I simply don't have the time these days to keep scanning here. If I go back on T3 afer not being on it for 5 days should I start again but back to low dose? I was taking my first dose at 0430am should I change that too? I Still have the throbbing in throat/neck, some restriction in breathing and am sure it is related to throat. After being off T3 my pulse rate is missing beats, does this mean anything? Will email you, thank you so much for your time I can only imagine how busy you must be!! Pam
