Guest guest
Hi Nicola Do you get your T4 from your GP on prescription? It is possible to be prescribed lactose free T4 from your GP. I take this type as like you I am wheat/gluten/lactose free. It can be ordered through Boots if you have a prescription from your GP. It is made by a company called dales. As for stopping your medication I just know I would not be able to stop mine for that length of time as I would feel so ill. I think you might be better keeping things as they are till you see him. The first time I saw Dr P I was on the ordinary levothyroxine and I felt lousy! He advised me to lower the dose and everyone said I looked better! As we are all different I have never been able to take less than 50mcg of the stuff without consequences though. Dr P is great, you will feel better just for having an appointment with him. Guest guest
Hi Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately I am not currently living in the UK and this is the only brand of Levothyroxine available. It is only 3 weeks till I see Dr P, so I think I will stay as I am and take his advice. Guest guest
HI Angel For myself I would love to try the natural stuff but Dr P says it will have too much T4 in it for me to tolerate. I also have tried to lower the levothyroxine it right down in the past but start to feel very ill with wierd crashing noises in my head when in bed at night and the sweating increases ten fold. Do not seem able to tolerate the T3 much either anything above 5mcg a day and that upsets the apple cart again. Thanks for that tho!
