Guest guest
Hi, i am currently take 120 tab erfa around 6.30am and 120 tab around 5pm and i am waiting for my latest blood results but feel a bit weird, i am getting pressure type headaches nearly every day as the side of my head and its worse when i bend down and have found my bowel habits are loose and very gassy. I keep having bouts of these and find when i feel a bit poorly i have the same symptoms all the time, also my teeth are decaying and gums are receeding i am 36 and my dentist says i need to brush more often but i do and havent changed anything so why are they changing all of a sudden, is it low vits or minerals. Has any one had this. Ali
Guest guest
hello ali please post your results a soon as you can ...your headache and loose bowels may be due to too much ndt. do you have any other symptoms of being a bit hyper such as fast pulse or raised temperature, hand temors? regarding your gums i believe this can be a classic sign of thyroid problems ....a very good remedy that works quickly is to take a lot of vitamin c on a daily basis but because you already have bowel problems it would be best to take quite small doses (say 250mg) every two or three hours. b vitamins are also essential and i have read that b3 is particularly gum friendly. a good quality b complex should help you. you could also think about rinsing you mouth with a weak solution of hydrogen peroxide. best wishes trish > > Hi, > > i am currently take 120 tab erfa around 6.30am and 120 tab around 5pm and i am > waiting for my latest blood results but feel a bit weird, i am getting pressure > type headaches nearly every day as the side of my head and its worse when i bend > down and have found my bowel habits are loose and very gassy. Guest guest
Hi, my results FT4 19.3pmol/l FT3 10.2pmol/l TSH<0.01mU/l i feel alot better today, is it possible to be over for a few days and then go back to normal? Guest guest
How much T3 are you taking. Is this synthetic or natural? I am guessing that you took your medication on the morning before you had your blood drawn to test your thyroid function. You should stop thyroid hormone after the last dose the day before, otherwise a doctor might tell you that you are over replaced and need to decrease your dose. Whenever posting results, always post the reference range for each test too so we can tell whether they are at the bottom, the middle or the top of the range. Glad that you are feeling better today, lets hope this continues Ali. Guest guest
Hi Sheila, thank you i will call them tommorow to find out my reference range, i have not taken any Erfa today as i had a bit of a panic attack whilst on my way to work and staright after i felt sick and really tired due to my heart going fast, this is the only thing that scares me because i have had a few whilst driving. cheers Ali
Guest guest
Alison, Go to our FILES SECTION http://health.group./group/thyroid treatment/files/ and in the ADRENAL folder, click on the Adrenal Questionnaire. Answer all of those questions and see how you score and let us know. You may need to do the 24 hour salivary adrenal profile to see what your level of cortisol and DHEA is at four specific times during the day. You can get this done through Genova Diagnostics or Blue Horizon (see our Folder 'Discounts on Tests and Supplements). Meanwhile, if you have not taken any Erfa since the day before yesterday, can you let us know if you are feeling any better now. Having a free T3 of 10.2 after not taking the Erfa on the day of your test shows that you were definitely taking too high a dose at 250mgs daily. Are you self treating or being directed on dosing via your doctor? Guest guest
Hi Sheila, i feel a bit better today and yes i am self treating as all the endos i have seen are arrogant, but i chose to use erfa because my sister is suffering on T4 but she does nothing about it! I phoned the hospital and they said the reference ranges were TSH 0.27 - 4.2 FT4 12-22 FT3 3.95 lower 6.8 upper i am not sure whether this is correct as i just asked for thyroid reference range? Guest guest
Thanks for letting us have the ranges. If your GP's don't have the reference ranges, how on earth are they able to interpret blood results. You really should be asking them this Ali. We should not have to telephone the hospital laboratory to find out what these are. Did you stop the Erfa and if so, are you starting to feel a lot better by now and have the headaches been relieved? Guest guest
Hi Ali Maybe your adrenals have been struggling to cope with the high dose of Erfa? Have you completed the adrenals questionnaire like Sheila suggested? Maybe you could try splitting your 2 x 60mg doses into 4 x 30mg doses and space them out more evenly through the day? It's worth a try, and it might help with the palpitations. Hope this helps.... Guest guest
Pleased that your decreasing the dose has helped you feel better. You probably woke up with a racing heart because your body is still getting used to the new hormones in your Erfa Thyroid. If you get these again Ali, take 500mgs Magnesium Citrate, this should help. Guest guest
i found Erfa very strong and ended up with palpitations, very loose bowels and sleepless nights. Personally I find that Armour suits me a lot better and is more of a gentle experience. We are all different, so perhaps you will need to reduce your dose and move up gently with your dosage. good luck. > > Hi Ali > > Maybe your adrenals have been struggling to cope with the high dose of Erfa? Guest guest
Jan, how much ERFA were you taking? It sounds as if you were on too high a dose or you increased your dose too quickly.
