Guest guest
Hi All, I visited my GP today who is sympathetic to the NDT cause. He has ordered all my tests recommended on here and i will post when results come in. However, I was on the Gynae waiting list for a procedure and it was actually their pre-op screening that showed i was hypo again and i've been trying to get right ever since Sept 11. My GP has today received a letter from the consultant (He is not lying and i read it myself today!) stating that the hospital anaesthetist is refusing to put me under due to the fact i am on an unlicensed drug and that if i do not go back on thyroxine to get my numbers " within acceptable ranges " i will not be operated on. Now as it happens, my Gynae problem has improved significantly since i've upped my dose and i may not need this procedure at all but i'm shocked and a little scared about anything for the future. Has anyone else had this experience? I've been on NDT for 5 years but this is the first time i've needed any Ops. I'm up in Aberdeen.
