Guest guest
Hi Elena, Welcome! I'm Debbie mom to 2 sets of identical twins. They are 3 1/2 years and 18 months. Debbie from IL Elena <elenabg@...> wrote: Hi everyone My name is Elena and I have a 7 month old son . Basically I became aware of this topic when my son had his first vaccinations. The paedritican told me that I had no choice and that vaccination was mandatory. I found out that this was a lie, but blame myself as I did not find out sooner. Anyway after doing some research I found out some information on vaccinations, which is hair raising to put it mildly. I am looking forward to exploring this topic in depth. Guest guest
Thank you, Elena. I hadn't even thought that it might be illegal in this state (WA). I just did a quick search, and there are exemptions, and (at first glance) no requirement until school age (and exemptions for that as well). The first physician I chose for dd was an alternative physician. On day 5 of her life we had a scare, and he showed himself to be completely unfamiliar with newborn care (we say he 'punted' us to the ER - $$$$ to find out she was fine....). I decided I needed a pediatrician that could assess more rapidly and accurately, but the vaccine conversation I have tomorrow will be very telling. The alternative MD probably would not have blinked, but the ped may have some qualms. Thank you for mentioning that. I do need to get prepared. Thank you for all of the introductions! I am so pleased to be a part of this list group. Racheal mother of a Introduction Hello, My name is Racheal, and I am mother to 10 week old (today!) daughter. I did not do any research on vaccines until recently, and am very upset at myself for not paying attention sooner. I allowed the first dose of the Hep B vaccine to be administered to dd at 2 weeks. In retrospect, that was absurd. There is absolutely no risk to my daughter of Hep B. It is very frustrating. Tomorrow I have the 2 mos well baby exam, and I am not going to vaccinate. Is there a danger to not administering the 2nd dose of Hep B? I am happy that I found this list, and am looking forward to learning a lot about vaccines so that I can make an informed decision. warmly, Racheal
Guest guest
Thank you Randall. I was concerned about the consequences of interupting. A friend went to a well-baby today. The Dr told her that vaccines gave 100% immunity. She laughed a that. She said many dr's don't even know what they are talking about. they just believe what they are taught. Guest guest
Thanks Actually I was too flabbergasted at the time. I spoke to my doctor at home *(I'm originally from South Africa) and he was disgusted as I was, so I did some reseearch. It didn't help that my husband who is american pushed the issue in the firts place and said well without them he won't get into schools etc. and will gets sick. After I presented him with the literature, he changed his mind. The thing is my first instinct was horror as well. Why should babies get vaccinate particularly if they are still breastfeeding. It's no excuse but as an immigrant I didn't know much about this procedure in the states and as officials and my husband said it was mandatory I believed them. Well not anymore. Guest guest
Thanks Racheal. I found it was better to be informed of my legal rights than go into it blindly. Guest guest
Hi I am also new to this group and am very excited to see that there is finally a place to go to to get information and hopefully some kind of a consensus in terms of nutritional guidelines for our bariatric patients. I work at Wood University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ as the dietitian/research coordinator/exercise advisor/education coordinator ( I wear many different hats) for a very busy laparoscopic bariatric surgery program. We offer both RYGB and the Lap Band as options for our patients. I look forward to offering any information I can and learning from all of you. Thanks, Sheila Buckley Introduction Hello. My name is and I am a registered Dietitian with Grinnell Regional Medical Center in Iowa. My interest in this group is that I see a large number of Gastric Bypass patients both in Pre-Op and Post-Op. I have been doing this for a few months now, and I was just curious on how other facilities manage this patient population. I have called the ADA and they have not yet developed any protocol for this procedure and diet. This facility that I work for is currently doing about ten surgeries a week and I see about two to three pre-op patients a day as well. This patient population requires a lot of my day so I want to make sure that I am doing the best that I can and providing the most accurate information. Guest guest
Hi Lee, You want a happy healthy little guy? --NO vaccines. Then, if he is a little fusy you will know it is probably gas or he is tired, etc. and you won't have to live with the fear that it could be the DPT frying the poor little guys brain. The fact is vaccines are toxic poisons injected deep into the body of a tiny infant that can't tell you how it is ravaging his body and they do NOTHING to build immunity. Instead, vaccines hinder and interfer with the proper function of the immune system. Homeopathy is the way to go. Take Sheri's class if you can. Learn all you can. And best wishes to you and your little guy. Lynda Introduction Hi there, My name is Lee. I am a new mom to a wonderful 11 week old little boy. I have been grappling with the decision to vaccinate for some time now, as I started researching the issue long before I even became pregnant. Really, it boils down to the fact that I am afraid to vaccinate, but also afraid to not vaccinate. Fortunately, we live in British Columbia, where vaccination is not manditory (as far as my public health nurse has led me to believe). He is due for his 2 mo vaccines. I won't vaccinate him until I am completely comfortable with my decision. I am quite interested in learning about homeopathic alternatives. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi everyone, I am new at this. In what I believe to me more than a coincidence, I met Chifu in NY and got turned on to this forum. The topic of discussion today is very close to my heart and I'm jumping in. My name is Mwende Edozie. I am originally from Kenya but reside in the US. During a visit to Kenya (and my village) in 2001, I was shocked by the number of AIDS-related deaths there were in Kenya. Subsequently, I found out that there were about 1.3 million orphans whose future, without intervention, was bleak. In response, I have founded a non-for-profit organization called Twana Twitu (which in my language, means "our children"). Please visit our website, if you have a chance. www.twanatwitu.com. We just recently incorporated in the US and are making lots of difference in the lives of children in my region. I look forward to exchanging ideas on how we can better serve this important but overlooked segment of our population. Mwende

Guest guest
Pam, I'm glad you're out there researching this. Hubby and I have a 17 month old and he hasn't gotten all of this shots up to this point. We stopped all vaccinations at 15 months when we started questioning their safety. Now I'm online doing research and trying to make a decision about whether or not to continue...He's due for MMR, Prevnar, and DTaP. We're leaning towards doing NO MORE vaxing. A lot of people on this list and other lists talk about " detoxing " and improving autistic symtoms. Have you read anything like that? There may be some supplements that you can use to affect your older children's development. Good luck.
