Guest guest
, I agree totally with Kimberley. Cancel any further baby checkups until you feel better about your facts. I would recommend reading the following three books: The Vaccine Guide - Making an informed choice - Randall Neustaedter What your doctor may NOT tell you about children's vaccines - Cave and a book which I found very empowering, although written in the 80's is How to raise a healthy child in spite of your doctor - Dr Mendelsohn Read these three books and you will be far more informed and secure in your decisions, until then - I would not take my baby near a doctor who might try convince me to do something I wasn't informed about. Keep us updated Fern and Zoë Re: Introduction , You're okay.....but I think you'll start feeling better once you get this grasp: You are your child's ultimate authority about what is done to and with them. Build up some " will power " in knowing that your child is not the property of your pediatrician or even the government. Remember that your child depends on you and puts a lot of trust in you 24/7 for their well-being in all aspects. Doctors are not " god " when it comes to truly knowing what is best for each individual child. Try VERY hard not to passively accept the ped's " suggestions. " Hold off on further vaccinations until you can feel so much more confident in your authoritative position with your child. You tell that ped that they don't own your child. The decision to vax or not vax your child is yours an yours alone. Don't give your pediatrician ANY authority when it comes to your decisions concerning your child. You take ALL the authority. The purpose of having a pediatrician is not to be told " you don't know anything about what's good for your child " or take over your parental rights/authority to ANY degree. You let him know that. If you have to, raise your voice! Any pediatrician that gives you any implication that you know nothing, and he knows everything....IS NOT OUT FOR YOUR CHILD'S BEST INTEREST. You talk down to him if and when you have to. SHE IS YOUR CHILD.....NOT THEIRS. Kimberley

Guest guest
Welcome! My husband was initially more into the " science " and I was more concerned with the morality of it all, but as I researched (and talked his ears off!) we found that we are both on the same team, so who cares! In the end, bad science is bad morality, if you ask me. We are glad you are here, however you got here. Jami Naperville, IL introduction > My name is and I have 11-month-old b/g twins. Guest guest
A great big WELCOME to Katy and family: You're gonna love it here on this list! I love the part of your post about people not believing your children are twins. I had friends in school that were twins and they didn't look anything like each other either. One was brown haired and overweight and the other one was blonde and skinny as a rail. No one believed them either and most of the time the skinny one is the one that used to get into fights over not being believed (she said she was tired of being called a 'liar'.) LOL!! It has been very interesting raising the twins, many people don't believe me that they are twins due to the big size difference. looks like a 5/6 year old and Tyler is the size of a 2yr old. Tyler has been very healthy, he did not have any heart problems after birth and except for speach he is pretty close to doing meeting milestones for 4 yr olds. He does need to work on some fine motor skills but his hands are so small that most scissors are to big for him to hold. Guest guest
welcome to the list, jessica! you're one courageous woman to think about vaccines before you even have a child! and i guess your experience with your critters teaches you how to treat allopathic medicos. :-) i'd say, simply ignore them. ignore their demands for " wellbabyvisits " which were only invented so *they* could jab the little ones. we haven't seen a medico for years now, except my husband, who was stupid enough to do so because he was so desperate to get his knee sorted out so he could play another season of cricket (some stupid sport in the UK, similar to baseball). dd's last visit to one of those smiling serial killers in white clothing was when she was 7, she's now 14 and doing better than ever before. ds's last visit was at his 2 months " well baby " visit when the doc fell out with me over vaccinating because i laughed at him when he said that in the UK diphtheria is rampant (i had been living in the UK until 4 months previously and surely would know if there were any diphtheria cases!). you go girl, follow your heart and read the information here and don't believe a word! research it all yourself and you'll come to your own conclusion. :-) claudia --- jessicaanne13 <jessicaanne13@...> wrote: > Hi everyone--I thought I would take the time to > introduce myself as I > joined this group last week. Guest guest
I thought I would include some of my goals here so - just another way to hold myself accountable. In 4 weeks I will: Weigh 170 lbs and have a body fat % of 37. In 6 weeks I will: Weigh 167 and have a body fat % of 35 In 8 weeks I will: Weigh 163/33% In 12 weeks I will: Weigh 157/29% My ultimate Goal is 130lbs and less then 20% But since I haven't been below 175 since I graduated Highschool (16 years ago) it's hard to say what my goal will ultimately be until I get closer to it. Other then the pure numbers I have other goals: 1) - Terminator Arms. Even under the fat I think I have pretty shaply arms and I can't wait to see what they look like under all that 2) - Run a Marathon. I started on Tuesday with my marathon running program. First goal (of course) is to run a 5K but eventually I plan to run in a Marathon Next August 3) - Six Pack. Yes the ever present 'six pack' goal. Even if it's only for a day I want to see it... just once 4) Be healthy and happy! One of the biggest motivators for excercise, for me, is to be able to engage in activities that most people don't consider... like biking 26 miles, sea kyacking, white water rafting... (all things I did last year) 5) 10 Pushups, 10 Pullups, 10 Headstand pushups...Yes I dream BIG.. I'm sure there are more goals in there, but that's all I can come up right now... Guest guest
Dear Simon, To be honest as far as I know there are very few positions for Rig Doctors and I don't know too many doctors who would move in to a rig medics position without being desperate, however there are positions for project doctors going out to fill the requirments of ex pats working in remote locations, usually with a medic on site as well. These are normally the big projects with lots of ex pats involved. To get in I would advise you contact a couple of the main agecies for these things which would be Abermed industrial Doctors, Fran Dey would be a good contact on Tel: 01224 624314, AON in Aberdeen, can't remember the Tel number, or Expro logistics in Glostershire may be able to help. As I said the contracts for doctors seem to be a bit scarse but normally are of a major construction nature. Best Regards Ian. Introduction Hello, all. My name is Simon Bloodworth, currently the Regimental Medical Officer for 1st Battalion Royal Irish Regiment. I am looking for info on training and employment prospects, primarily for rig medic work (and rig doctor) for when I get out of the Army. I wish I had good advice to give on kit et al, but as an ex HM Forces medics can tell you, I rarely see any good kit to be able to tell you about. If anybody wants to do a media article on " Crap kit through the ages " , I can tell you a load......
