Guest guest
Hi Katy, It is nice to hear from you again. ! You will enjoy this group .As I can see you have already fit in. You missed the gathering we just had But the Rochester group will be having another lunch together this fall . We make sure we pick a day when every one can show up . The last lunch we had was in the spring and it was a lot of fun. If anybody else wants to show up they can . well have a nice night. Kim Kim Fuoco [arsoap.com] introduction Hi everyone.....I guess it's time that I quit lurking and introduce myself.I received an email from Kim a couple of weeks ago inviting me to join andsince then I've been so busy that I haven't taken the time to sit down andpost. My name is Katy and I have a very small soap business called NaplesCreek Soaps & Sundries. I'm located in Naples (NY of course) and mainly justsell my product at craft shows and from my website. I do have my soaps in 2gift shops (co-ops) but haven't really done wholesale yet. Soapmaking hasbeen my hobby and passion since 1998 but, unfortunately, I have a full timejob (gotta pay for those soap supplies!) that keeps me very busy as well. Ido most of my soaping on weekends but try and get a few batches in duringthose late nights in the week when I've got time to myself. I'm divorcedwith 2 daughters (12 and 16) and have been engaged for about 7 years! Myfiance' and I have been together for almost 10 years now, have built a housetogether (that we now live in) and may even be considered married by commonlaw. :-)One of these days we will have that wedding. I've been readingeveryones messages and sure wish I could have made the gathering. Soundedlike a lot of fun. I looked at the map but it's still hard to tell justwhere everyone is from. A few from Rochester maybe? I know Kim is inLeicester which isn't far from me and I drive through there everyday to goto work. I've been getting almost all of my supplies online so if anyone hasany hints on suppliers close to me (or Rochester even), I would be forevergreatful. The shipping kills me. Nice to "meet" you all!KatyNaples Creek Soaps & Sundrieswww.naplescreeksoaps.comOur members maphttp://.homestead.com/locations.htmlOur Message Boardhttp://www.voy.com/21568/Check out these great Molds!!http://soapwerks.com/martinworld.htmAll posts to this list are copyrighted by post author. Guest guest
Lizz, How is your Play going? I have not gotten around to go over to the park yet to check things out . Kim Fuoco Re: introduction SMALL WORLD!!! Yes, is my hubby! I read your note to him and he was amazed! "I know her! She's so nice!"I'm so glad you like my soap. Thimbleberry Hill is going strong! I've opened a shop on Main Street in Geneseo. I give classes out of the shop also. Right now I'm thinking of adding soaping supplies. Guest guest
I was very involved in our local DS support group when was younger...around 1 yr. old. Basically all members had little children as it was a newly formed group. The group fell apart after about 5-7 yrs due to low attendance of monthly meetings. I formed some wonderful friendships and still are very close to the original members even after the group fizzled. A new group has formed in our area again and I attended one meeting. It was just like the group that we used to have......all parents of children under 3 yrs old. Then I found this place and absolutely love it because it is so chock full of information and if I have a particular worry or problem, I can post and get tons of help from wonderful people. Thank goodness for technology, huh? We are all very lucky. Jackie, Mom to 13ds, 10, and Bradley

Guest guest
Hello: I am the co-leader of a DS Support Group in my area and our attendance has been very low. I think alot of people forget about it, as the leader before me said he had very few people come unless he called a few days before the meetings. Also, we have tried changing our time to a Saturday morning instead of a week night evening. This itself I think has helped. Right now we are also meeting at a park so the kids can play while we have our meeting. Even though I'm not a big outdoors fan, I have to say it has been kind of nice. Also, in a couple of weeks we are having a picnic and I'm expecting alot more attendance for those as they seem to be pretty popular. We are also sometimes combining our meetings with the Autism Support Group depending on what is going on and if we have similar issues. For instance, in September we are having a Legislature meeting in conjunction with the Autism Support Group. We will have at least one congressman from our area there and are working on some more. I, luckily, don't have to coordinate this as our local Easter Seal's Children's Developmental Center is where our DS Support Group is through and the Parent Liasion takes care of this kind of stuff. Well, I think that's about it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Mommy to - 3 and Noah - 21 mos. Guest guest
Kathy, I live in Grafton, near Alton, IL. Where did you live when you were here? I ask because Karrie will be the first child with ds fully included in kindergarten here in our district. One other child was " mainstreamed " ...in other words, she had so many pull-outs, she wasn't really in the reg ed class much at all. Plus she had an aide velcro'd to her side all the time. Karrie's teacher will have an aide, to help with the whole class. Karrie will not have any pull-outs, both OT and ST will be in reg ed classroom. Guest guest
Maybe you should try the naturalfamilylife group also. It is a group as well. Some of the people here are there. It is more centered on health issues where this group is vaccine centered. >From: dinumber1@... >Reply-Vaccinations >Vaccinations >Subject: Introduction >Date: Wed, 8 Aug 2001 22:02:05 EDT > >Hello group, as a new member I've been asked to introduce myself. Guest guest
Be sure to go to scdiet.com and to also look up Specific Carbohydrate Diet at www.google.com. Three days onto it and my son and I stopped having diarrhea (I went the route of Celiac, IBS, IBD, Chrons's etc with no diagnosis or explanation of what was causing us to have 1-3 watery stools per day). >Diagnosed the vexing non-diagnosis of " irritable bowel syndrome " 3 years > ago and told to " learn to live with it " I have been muddling along. > Recently, the pain has increased and so too, the other symptoms of the > " disorder " . Guest guest
Hi , Gees, when I saw your introduction, I realized that I forgot to post an intro myself as I'm new to the list and enjoying all the great info! , I think its great that you are learning about all this before you have children! I was blessed to learn the truth about vaccinations before I had my son, from a very painful experience with a vaccine-damaged dog. She was selectively vaccinated - and I watched her turn into a completely paranoid basket case right before my eyes the week after a rabies vaccination which I had deliberately delayed and kept separate from the other puppy shots the breeder had given her before she came to us. Rabies was the only vax I was planning to do every 3 years (as it is the only one we had to do by law). Needless to say, no more vaccinations for any animals in my family, and definitely none for the humans! Since then, I've been educating myself and reading everything I could on the subject. I went through the list of vaccines and researched each one individually, and in each case the risk of giving the vaccine was higher than the risk of not giving it, at least in our case. -JeN -------------------------------------------------------------------- The Continuum Concept (In Search of Happiness Lost) " If the world could be saved by a book, this just might be the book " - Holt http://www.continuum-concept.org/cc_defined.html -------------------------------------------------------------------- >From: klyoung2424@... > >I just wanted to introduce myself to the group!
