Guest guest
Hello All, I am sorry to see drop the list. He was my favorite poster since quit. You can see 's posts at: misc.kids.health sci.med misc.health.alternative misc.health.aids sci.med.dentistry I see most of his posts at misc.health.alternative For those who don't know about usenet (aka, netnews, aka, newsgroups), I encourage you to find out more. I downloaded a newsreader (Agent or Free Agent can be found at www.tucows.com), but you can also use the newsreader that comes with Windows (called Outlook Express, I believe). There are many other newsreaders available, some are free, but I paid $30 for mine (Agent ver. 1.8), but that includes a very nice email program that uses the same general format as Agent newsreader (newsreader and email program are integrated). I also subscribe to a news service (Newsguy), which costs me around $60 per year, IIRC. This " budget " version offers about 7000 newsgroups, of which I currently monitor about 12. There are many other newgroup services such as " Supernews " , which offer as many as 30,000-40,000 newsgroups, but these can cost as much as $10 or more per month. And there are newservices that are free (usually included with your ISP), but some of these do not offer very many newsgroups. I spent 3 years reading newsgroups before I ever got on a list. Newgroups take some time to " learn " , but have a wider audience than most lists. Unfortunately, I haven't seen on any newsgroups that I am monitoring, but I think he's on another list (aids dissidents). Let me know if you want more information on newsgroups (by private email?). db
