<<<<<<my pediatrician claims it is impossible to get the Measles and

Mumps vaccines without the Rubella. I am pretty sure she

doesn't

know what she is talking about. How can I prove it?>>>>>>>>

sarah,

i do know that rubella WAS available separately, but do not know for

certain that it still is, probably it is, but just not used very often. your

ped probably doesn't own any and either won't bother to order it separately

or can only order it with a minimum amount order--meaning she may have to

order " X " amount of it to get it and she's not willing to do that, because no

one else will want the rest of it that way, separate from the measles and

mumps.

as far as i know, rubella (as with measles and mumps) is only available in a

" live " version--just so you know. also, the thing i would ask you to

contemplate is; so what if your kids get any of those 3 diseases? in most

cases, it is harmless, kids get through it with no complications and their

immune systems are stronger for it. you will know wehat us best for your

kids, but personally, if my kids get any of them, then so be it--they are in

good health and are strong, i'm not particularly worried about any of those

3.

i don't know where you can get recent reportings of death or disability of

natural outbreaks--also, i don't know if you can determine what is a natural

outbreak antway, because with the MMR being " live " , people get the disease

from the vaxed kids sometimes and that's not a " wild " case of them. if i can

track down any statistics for you, i will and then pass them on to you.
