Guest guest
Hi everyone! I started to take Erfa thyroid med a few weeks ago. Iam only taking 15mg, was taking 15mg AM 15 afternoon, but couldnt sleep, so Ive dropped to 15mg. The thing is Ive started to feel sick and dizzy, it seems to be coming from the back if my neck, where I have a few misplaced discs, but I had that under control, so I dont know what is causing me to feel so bad. Is this related to the Erfa do you think. I had to come off Levo because it made me feel so ill too, What do you people think. Warm Wishes to all. Spain. Guest guest
Hello (Spain) The symptoms you are suffering could be because you are suffering with low adrenal reserve. If you are, no amount of thyroid hormone, synthetic, or natural, can be properly absorbed at the cellular level. Go here http://health./group.thyroid treatment/files/ and on the page that opens, click on the 'ADRENALS' folder. On the page that opens, scroll down to 'Adrenal questionnaire' and complete all of those questions to see how you score. This will give you an idea whether low adrenal reserve is your problem. You may need to do the 24 hour salivary adrenal profile to see where your levels of cortisol and DHEA lie at four specific times during the day. Your level of cortisol should be low at night in order for you to go to sleep and stay asleep, and it might be that at that particular time, your cortisol level is too high, and this could be the cause of you staying awake. Also, your other symptoms could be because of low adrenal reserve. However, ask your GP to test your levels of iron, transferrin saturation%, ferritin, Vit. B12, Vit D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc. When you get these results back, post them here together with the reference range and we will help with their interpretation. If thyroid hormone is not working you have to do whatever you can to find the cause. There usually is one, and it can usually be treated. Only then will thyroid hormone work as it should. However, when I tried Erfa I had the same problem - it made me very dizzy and I felt drunk all the time. When I went back onto the generic Thai Armour "Thiroyd" the dizziness went. I have no explanation for that, but after trying all the different NDTs there are I decided to stick with THiroyd which suits me down to the ground. I seem to get on well with Thiroyd and Naturethroid, can tolerate Armour, but Erfa and Thyroid S make me dizzy - go figure ! Funnily enough I also have damage to my neck vertebrae. No idea if there is a connection...Best wishes,
