Guest guest
Hi all, Wondered if anyone had any thoughts, advice or input into the following situation. I'm working with with T3 only and trying to understand what is going on with my data not matching my symptoms. I came off 18 Isocort over Christmas and had my adrenals tested about a month ago: 8.8 (12 - 22) 7.7 (5.0 - 9.0) 1.9 (3.0 - 7.0) 1.2 (1.0 - 3.0) My total daily cortisol in 2009 was: 8.5 (21 - 41) 2010 was: 11 (21 - 41) Now: 19.6 (21 - 41) So there's been some improvement over 3 years as you can see. I'm not on any adrenal support at the moment other than vits and minerals. With I am trying to titrate my T3 doses but it's proving very difficult as I have very positive data that would seem to contradict my adrenal and thyroid symptoms. Here is an example of a days data on 38mcg T3: 18/02/12: 20mcg@..., 6@..., 6@..., 6@... 11.30am: 114/70 92 36.5 12.30pm: 127/70 95 36.7 1.30pm: 121/72 89 36.9 2.30pm: 120/80 96 37.0 3.30pm: 125/78 92 4.30pm: 120/79 87 36.9 5.30pm: 113/71 75 37.0 7.00pm: 131/71 92 37.1 8.30pm: 125/76 100 37.0 9.30pm: 123/70 91 37.0 10.30pm: 122/72 91 36.9 As you can see my BP is very good which says indicates good adrenal function. My pulse is pretty much always on the high side except for the odd time which is uncomfortable. Here are my thyroid results from last year on T3 only: June 2011, on 25mcg after coming off NDT TSH: 4.7 (0.4 - 4.0) FT4: 6.9 (10 - 22) FT3: 3.9 (2.8 - 6.5) November 2011, on 50mcg T3: TSH: 0.2 (0.4 - 4.0) FT4: 3.9 (10 - 22) FT3: 2.8 (2.8 - 6.5) So they clearly show I'm hypothyroid but my data is puzzling us. Here are my current symptoms: Symptoms: excessive fatigue, very weak on standing, unable to walk very far, dry eyes and blurred vision (not all the time), depression, headache, nausea, v bad joint pain - knees and feet, back pain, brain fog (severe at times, has lessened since I stopped the T4), no stamina, can't cope with stress, Anxiety attacks at times, I think this is adrenal related though, I go all hot, feel like I'm going to pass out and be sick. I've also just told that I feel like I have a lot of adrenaline most of the time. I'm very shaky and wobbly on my feet, my limbs feel like jelly and I feel almost pumped up like I've just had a shock (like fight or flight) but I'm exhausted as well if that makes sense? Along with this I get clammy palms and feet. asked me to post and see if anyone had any ideas as to what else could be causing symptoms apart from thyroid. He mentioned Lyme - I have had this tested on the NHS and it was negative, is this good enough? Polyuria? Sorry this is such a long post and well done if you've taken it all in. I've just been tested for coleliac and it's negative and plan on re doing a full iron panel next week (ferritin 136) Many thanks Hannah
