Guest guest
Here are my thoughts on " should I vax if we do not have a healthy lifestyle " My belief about good diet and illness is this....eating vegan with an emphasis on living foods won't necessarily alter whether you get a particular infection if exposed....but I do think it can alter your body's reaction to that infection, meaning whether that infection manifests as a serious illness, a mild illness or totally asymptomatically. My reasons for not vaccinating are not so much out of concern for the immediate and dramatic risks (fever, convulsions, brain damage, which in reality are not that common) but rather is for the long term risks -- which I expect are quite common, but the average health consumer does not link back to the vaccine. If I was going to feed my children meat and dairy products, hydrogenated fats and other health compromising ingredients which I think are an even bigger risk factor in terms of one's long term health, in my view it would be absurd to worry about vaccine dangers! (unless we had a family history of acute reactions to vaccines.) The number one cause of premature death in this country is still heart disease, and the biggest preventable risk factors for it are diet and smoking. A variety of cancers are probably also at least partially caused by diet. In my estimation, meat and dairy consumption are most likely a contributing factor of probably at least five to ten times more deaths and disabiltiy then vaccines. It's like in the interest of protecting your small child while he's riding a bike, you make him wear knee pads, a helmut, and gloves -- but then allow him to ride back and forth across the interstate! While I do think vaccines are risky, I think it is even riskier for a child to NOT get breastmilk as a baby, or to be fed meat and dairy. I think exposure to vaccines in a child who has not been breastfed, and is eating the standard American diet is only very minutely increasing that child's risk of degenerative disease later in life (which I believe will be quite high!) Therefore I think it might make sense for those children to be vaccinated -- it might at least decrease their odds of certain acute illnesses-- until the vaccine wears off.
