Guest guest
HI CHRIS I have suffered from red palms and they also shine. At the moment I also have a repeat of this problem. I have even questioned GOLDSHIELD about it when I was on Thyroxine. All I got from them was to see my GP, but I still do not know the reason for it. Pressure on the hand as on a mouse makes it worse, and can also cause numbness, so I too would like to know the cause. My GP dismissed it as arthritis but it's not that kind of pain, it's in the soft tissue. Just lightly holding my walking stick will set it off or resting my hand on the keyboard will do it too, I've had it for over a year now. The only other person I've read of who has this too had her thyroxine reduced by her doctor (in the USA) who said it was a sign of being over medicated..she felt even worse after the reduction. In my case I'm mid range on blood tests so over medication isn't the problem in my case.
Guest guest
Could it be to do with circulation, as at times when I have been taking my BP my hand turns all red. Yesterday all I did was to make some cards which entailed using scissors and cutting out. My hand became painful especially the knuckles, but apart from this I am suffering from wide spread muscle pain, which I have been informed now that it is not due to Polymyalgia, and I have lost count of the amount of wrong diagnoses I have received, but it sounds like I am not the only one. Do you feel the cold? If so it maybe worth looking into Reynaud's disease. I forgot to say in my original post that the soles of my feet are the same as my hands when I have a flare - red and swollen, I have to shuffle as the pain is worse if I try to walk...Hypothyroidism, the disease that keeps on giving.
