Guest guest
Hi Sheila, this is great to hear that he is still practicing , but would it not be advisable for Dr Skinner to tell his patients to change their Doctor after they have been referred and treated , to stop the doctors catching on what Dr S is doing. we all know that the GP`s don`t understand the thyroid and if the patient is no longer his patent he/she can not do much. their are the patients notes to considerbut their should be a way around things !!!! this is what i would do in hind site. leave a smoke trail. Guest guest
Given the number of patients who see Dr Skinner, it seems there are very few doctors who object to his way of treating patients. So I would say it is not worth patients making a point of trying to find a like-minded GP. If it was that easy to find a GP who knows their stuff people wouldn't need to be referred to Dr Skinner in the first place. Maybe some GPs will be impressed enough at their patients' improvement in health to take an interest in the subject. I don't think we should be on the defensive. It is those doctors who stick rigidly to dogma even when it contradicts practical results who are at fault. Guest guest
Hi Miriam I see your point... my GP was absolutely fine about referring me to endos and, I gather, told one of them - to the effect - that I thought he was a jerk: (this endo Professor walked out to a bursting at the seams waiting room, to announce that I would today be seen by someone else... you know, the usual thing is that you get to see a junior after the big boy has seen you and found 'nothing wrong')! I asked my GP to refer me to Dr S (I think in the past I've said I self-referred... that is what I meant!!) and, I have to say, I think his view of my condition has changed BECAUSE he can see it with his own eyes (and I'm not 99% yet). I am very different with treatment. I'm not sure that asking around to find one, 'who'll go along with something' - which they many not normally do - will have a positive outcome... because lots have heard about docs being hauled before the GMC... not many have the constitution of Dr S. Contrary to my very nature, sometimes 'softly, softly...' seems the only way. Best to everyone! > > Given the number of patients who see Dr Skinner, it seems there are very few doctors who object to his way of treating patients.
