Guest guest
There was a brief item on "Inside Health" this afternoon on Radio 4. The programme blurb read: " "Half of all pregnancies in the UK are unplanned, so women and their babies lose out on important supplements like folic acid to help prevent spina bifida. But for women with an underactive thyroid gland it's even more important that they do their best for their baby by increasing their thyroxine dose as soon as they know they're pregnant. But research from Leicester shows that women often fall through the gaps when seeking care - as GPs, midwives and consultants often think someone else is helping these women." One of the women interviewed by the programme said that she had done her research and contacted Thyroid UK for information. This was the only organisation that she mentioned. At the end of the item the presenter informed us that more information could be obtained from the programme's website. I just visted the programme website.... more information may be obtained from..... The British Thyroid Foundation!!!! This really pisses me off. Guest guest
Well, id I was running TUK, I would be writing to them asking them to record a correction, and that they should say they made a mistake and for people needed more information, they should contact TUK, and NOT BTA.
