Guest guest
Hi I had all my mercury fillings out some years ago too and in doing so needed several new root canals also. I went to my dentis's Endodontist who, though horribly expensive, did a brilliant job and I've had no issues since. Rather that than lose the teeth ! She explained there's a right and a wrong way to do root fillings and sadly too often the latter may well be the default. I'd always use an endodontist for this type or work. Best Wishes J > > Hi all > > I'm awaiting on my t3 result but my t4 result is 19.6 range 10 to 26. > > I am also due to have some root canal treatment and I have just seen the posts regarding this >
Guest guest
I had all my mercury fillings out some years ago too and in doing so neededseveral new root canals also. I went to my dentis's Endodontist who, thoughhorribly expensive, did a brilliant job and I've had no issues since. Ratherthat than lose the teeth ! I have a similar story to tell. Back 4 or 5 years, Dr. Peatfield diagnosed me hypothyroid, even if it took my own GP yet another year to "catch" a TSH above the ref range and to finally check for autoantibodies (of which I had plenty). Anyway – Dr. P. suggested that the amalgam fillings should come out. When I proposed this to my dentist, he refused and spouted that if I wanted them out I should find somebody else to do it.... when I did exactly that and told him so, he changed his mind and bend over backwards to accommodate me.... anything to keep a valuable private patient, I guess! I compromised because I was on an insurance plan with this practice (which meant I only had to pay 1/3 for any crowns) in which I had invested 10 years without ever getting more out of it than the odd filling – I had all the amalgams removed by a holistic dentist, but asked my "regular" dentist for a complete overhaul of my crowns... – I have 12 L.... all my molars had been capped for donkey's years. I needed my first crown at the age of 12 (!) – little did I know all those years ago that the teeth of us hypos crumble faster than those of people's without autoimmune conditions.... After my little bust-up with the dentist I could not fault him for anything. He did a thorough check and x-rays and because many of my capped molars already had root canal fillings (some with amalgam, would you believe!!) he decreed that it would be madness to put shiny new crowns on 30+ year old root canals.... some of them showed signs of "unrest". He sent me to an endodontic specialist and she had her work cut out. The insides of the ones that had amalgams underneath the crowns were just one black slurry. She was horrified that a dentist should have done such a thing (mind you, that happened 30+ years ago). I broke this endodontist's personal record... 6 re-root canal fillings on one patient ... she gave me a discount for "mass-treatment"! Six months later - having been weekly in one or the other dentist's chair - I emerged after 6 re-root canals, 4 amalgam filling removals, 2 extracted amalgam filled wisdom teeth and 12 shiny new porcelain caps on my molars..... totally broke, but happy, and with all my teeth (bar 2 wisdoms) in place. Rightly or wrongly I blame 50+ years of amalgam fillings on playing a pivotal role in triggering my Hashimoto's and worsening my intestinal systemic Candida. I had an IgA Candida antibody count of > 150 ... ref range <10 ! Since being amalgam free my health has improved no end. I finally got on top of my Candida problem. Since I had the re-root canal treatments and all the rest of it, my mouth and jaw have been pain free and can actually use both sides for chewing (which caused jaw pain before). I no longer have bleeding gums, no longer a metallic taste in my mouth and no longer a white coated tongue... perhaps I have been lucky. My advice would be – if you need root canals, bite the bullet, pay the price and see an endodontic specialist. Ordinary dentists haven't got the equipment needed for such a delicate procedure. Guest guest
Hi all Thanks do all our responses u have many problems with my teeth which I have spent thousands on, I have to go back to the dentist who did the work as that's where I had all my treatment done but I am rather confused as the connection is between the jurors and dentist treatment, I hope this makes sense Thanks x > > > I had all my mercury fillings out some years ago too and in doing so > needed > several new root canals also.
