Guest guest
Hi Thanks for the info. Just started losing weight, having started taking Efra Thyroid, after 15 years of slowly putting weight on. I've emailed the Hertoghe Clinic for prices, so will see what they come back with. With warm wishes Bryony > > Hi Bryony > > I am still on hc, dhea etc. I don't know as it is possible to heal adrenals...depends what the course is. My view is if you need something you need it
Guest guest
How much erfa are you on? You must be pleased to start losing weight! i think it's 220Euros to see an associate, and 330 Euros to see an associate and Dr Hertoghe (he comes in partway through the consultation - he's excellent) Compared to private treatment in this country, it's not actually that expensive, i don't think. i paid £250 to see an endo who saw me once and then wouldn't return my calls or see me again, £150 to see someone who was very rude to me and said all my problems were down to weight despite me telling him that i had problems when i was very thin. So to pay the above isnn't that bad. It's more the travel costs and the hotel costs (if you stay) that ramp up the price. Mind you you can book eurostar in advance quite cheaply. There's no real reason to stay there over night, i've known of someone who came back the same day on eurostar, it just depends if you're well enough to cope with it. on my last visit i was there less than 24 hours (it's no fun alone, when you'r not feeling 100%). The first appointment has to be a double appointment but after that you go back every 3-4 months say and that's a single appointment and the tests are less. Tests are initially about 400 pounds, but for me came down to about half that later on. If i am ever successful i will try to set up some kind of charity to help people afford to go there.... (send business ideas to me on a postcard...!) mind you i need to be a benefactor of that charity myself, as i cannot afford to go back just yet ;-) (job ends next week) chris > > Hi > > Thanks for the info. Guest guest
Hi Really pleased to be losing a bit of weight. 2kg in the last month and I've been eating chocolate, etc!! It's still early days for the Efra, as I only started taking it at the beginning of February. I'm now on 2 grains. I was on 125mg of Thyroxin previously. I don't think I can really get the correct dosage for Efra though, until my adrenals are sorted. I do definitely feel about 30% better on it though. I wish the Euro exchange rate was better. Would make going to Belgium a lot more affordable!!! With warm wishes Bryony > > How much erfa are you on? > > You must be pleased to start losing weight! Guest guest
Hi there Sophie I'm not far from North Yorkshire, Darlington actually and looking to change my GP (even move home if need be). Would you mind sharing who and where this Dr is please? Could you message me? It's starting to look even more difficult to get hold of our meds privately and I may have to resort to finding an enlightened GP. Thanks in advance Jaki I have also just found a pharmacy near me in Richmond which has Armour and the advised a doctor who usually prescribes it, fingers crossed. > > Other than that I have a drs appointment on Monday where I will show them a letter from my friend near Newcastle who gets T3 and T4 to prove to my doctor that we do " do that in this country " . Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all the wonderful responses and support. Sheila, the letter is brilliant, thank you. We are just preparing to leave for our long trip in a few hours but I will touch base in a few days and hope to have my Genova Adrenal and Candida results to post too. My husband is also hypothyroid, and had the tests done. You will all no doubt be amused to know we just got a call from the vet and our cat is hypERthyroid! Very much so apparently (he is 16.5 and otherwise lively and healthy, and only has organic food). But the irony was quite amusing when we got that call. he eats and eats and loses weight, sigh. Yes, I can forward the Newcastle doctor info. Will do so in the next few days if that is ok, tonight if we have access to the internet once I have fished out the paper my friend gave me, from home. Thank you all again! Sophie > > > > > Hi there Sophie > > I'm not far from North Yorkshire, Darlington actually and looking to change my GP (even move home if need be). Guest guest
I wish you lots of good luck and it is funny about the cat ) Our cat is lazy but is a 'ragdoll' so not sure whether we would know if he was hypo or not lol . I think my husband is hypo too but he is too 'can't be bothered' to go for the tests as he spends most time looking after me sigh, one of the reasons I really need to get well to help him back. Take care and I look forward to recieving the info, but don't rush take your time. luv Dawnx our cat is hypERthyroid!
