Guest guest
It means you need to take calcium AND iron four hours apart from thyroid hormone, not from each other. If you are taking natural thyroid hormone replacement such as Erfa 'Thyroid' you can take this sublingually so it is absorbed directly through the tiny capillaries under your tongue straight into the blood stream, so there is no need to wait to take iron and calcium supplements. However, not all the thyroid extracts are made to be used in this way and have a hard coat, so these need to be swallowed. Personally, I would not run the risk of taking thyroid hormone two hours apart from iron/calcium and would wait the recommended four hours. I would want to be absolutely certain there was no iron or calcium left that might bind to it and stop it from doing the job it's supposed to. Guest guest
Thanks Trish for this. Luv - Sheila > It means you need to take calcium AND iron four hours apart from thyroid hormone, not from each other. oddly enough i was looking through a notebook today where i had written " don't take calcium and iron together " ...i've done a quick search and found the following: http://www.livestrong.com/article/249493-can-you-take-a-multivitamin-supplement-a-calcium-supplement-at-the-same-time/ " Iron Absorption Some multivitamins contain iron. Iron and calcium compete for absorption in your small intestine. According to the Linus ing Institute, you should take your iron supplements or iron-containing multivitamin at least two hours apart from your calcium supplement. This will increase your iron absorption " trish > > It means you need to take calcium AND iron four hours apart from thyroid > hormone, not from each other. No virus found in this message.
