Dear all,

I am contacting once more as we are faced with a national emergency. Unless we act now, the Health and Social Care

Bill will pass into law on 20 March 2012, and privatisation of the NHS will

begin. If you are keen to express your opposition to the bill, take a minute to

click on the link below, and add your vote to a 38 Degrees campaign calling for

a national demonstration.

Vote for a national demonstration.

We can’t rely on the news media

to report on the dangers faced by our national health service, as there seems

to be a near complete news blackout with regards to the health bill. So we have

to make the effort to forward this to all our contacts. We need to build

support and a wider audience. SPREAD THE WORD FAR AND

WIDE !

If you want a NHS where treatment depends on need and not the ability to

pay, the the bill must be dropped. How would you feel if you had to pay £50

just to see your GP? Or were diagnosed with cancer and couldn’t afford the

medicine or scans? This is the the direction we are heading in, and the type of Health Service that is being created before

our eyes.

Not many people realise that there is a huge largely unseen army of lobbyists pushing Lansley for reforms that will see private health companies making huge profits out of the NHS. To

get the changes to the NHS they want, companies have been busy employing politicians (including former health ministers), hiring lobbying agencies full of government insiders, and paying think tanks close to the Conservative Party. Please go here for more information on this subject. (The financial and vested interests of our MPs and Lords in

private healthcare).

Late last year, more evidence

to this effect surfaced when emails between senior health officials and the

private sector firm, McKinsey, were made public. These email exchanges discussed handing over to international private

companies, the management of NHS hospitals in return for contracts running into

hundreds of millions of pounds. The

emails show that McKinsey has been acting as a broker between the department of

health and "international players" (in particular private American healthcare companies) bidding to run the NHS. (These

emails were reported on in The Daily Mail (12/02/12) and in The Guardian

(03/09/11)).

As someone said today on 38 Degrees "Apathy is the most dangerous disease this country suffers from. we allow ourselves to be deceived, robbed, mocked and slaughtered. TIME TO SHAKE IT UP!"
