Guest guest
At end of February I stopped taking T3 because of throbbing/flutter in throat and breathing difficulties, did not take anything for the last week of February then had bloods taken and had rather high TSH 21.8 mu/L (0.35-5.0) taken before I restarted taking Erfa. I have been taking Erfa 1/4 grain x3 during the day since the beginning of March and will gradually increase by 1/4 or 1/2 grain after 3 weeks. Doc suggests I have bloods in 6 weeks time, will my TSH be likely to be back to normal by then or at least improved? She is NOT impressed about me not taking Levo!! Doc would only do iron ferritin but is this result too low? 98 ug/L (15-250) and would it be wise to get the rest of my iron tested privately? Appreciate any comments Pam

Guest guest
Please can you let me know if ferritin is normal or too low and if TSH of 21.8will sort itself out as written below > Is my Iron too low. As written previously my iron results are:> 98 ug/L (15-250) Hello Pam, Your Ferritin of 98 ug/L is fine and you would not need any iron supplementation. But keep checking at least once a year. It should never be lower than 70.... 98 is perfect. I am not quite sure what you mean by the TSH sorting itself out. Since you are now taking Erfa again, the TSH is bound to go down and probably will be suppressed in due course (which is fine). As you put thyroid hormone into the body there is no need for the pituitary gland to produce more TSH and subsequently the figure will go down. With best wishes,
Guest guest
> > > > > Hello Pam, > Hi , Thanks for your reply. I guess I was just asking about the TSH levels going down by 6 weeks later as my Doc wants me to have more bloods done to check it and I am only on 1 grain of erfa at the moment. She was not at all happy when I told her I had not taken levo for nearly a year and was taking NDT!!! Thanks again Pam
